Mascots Correct? Incorrect?

I like the Sheldon Orabs. Their nickname is from their colors, ORange And Black.

Not sure what their mascot would look like. Afraid my portrait would be of somebody wearing an orange burnoose.

Rockford, Illinois once upon a time had two high schools:

The East High E-Rabs (East red and blacks)
The West High Bars (black and reds)

East is still the E-Rabs.

Taking this question another way, I always think Minnesota got hosed by relocation. The original pro teams had very Minnesotan mascot/team names:

NBA: Lakers (land of ten thousand lakes)
NFL: Vikings (named because of the Scandinavian heritage of Minnesota)
MLB: Twins (named for the twin cities)
NHL: North Stars (state motto L’Étoile du Nord "The star of the north")
MLS: Loons (state bird)

While the Timberwolves make sense since Minnesota has the second most wolves in the US behind Alaska. Wild is pretty bland, and I guess might be tied to the BWCA which is the most visited wilderness area in the US.
