Boooooooo. Is it my favorite show of all time? Probably not, but I'd definitely not call it average. Again, people are entitled to their opinions.

Yup it's one of MY favorite shows. I haven't watched a ton of shows. I am sure there are probably better ones out there but I just haven't seen them.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Best space epic since the original Star Wars movies. Also was probably the funniest movie of the MCU so far.

Not arguing that GG wasn't great and fun, I really did enjoy it, BUT...
a) Serenity.
b) You haven't seen Deadpool yet, have you?

Well, I finally finished Daredevil Season 2, so here is my full-out review. Overall, I loved Season 2 and I'll even go out on a limb and say that I liked it more than Season 1. However, there was a point about halfway into the season where I didn't necessarily feel that way, due to some pacing problems and me not really caring for the Electra character at that point. However, after a few more episodes as I neared the finale, everything seemed to get back on track and I even started to at least be good with the Electra character and what they did with her. I still think casting could have been slightly better in the fact that it is still a bit hard to see this practically 100 pound female beating the crap out of all these ninjas. I'm not saying she has to be Ronda Rousey, but some type of muscle structure would have been nice like that of a Rebecca Ferguson in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. Even just take that actress and bulk her up some. Back to the pacing thing, like Daredevil Season 1, I think a lot of the problem was that they took what probably should have been a 10 episode storyline and stretched it to the needed 13 episodes. Shoot, even Jessica Jones had that same problem. One last gripe I had was that I thought it was almost too low-budget at a point, with practically zero special effects or some crazy fun stuff, and I’m usually the guy wanting movies to tame down the special effects and CGI, and make things more grounded. However, any problem I had with that was made up for with the last few episodes in some pretty cool ways that I won’t spoil.

Enough of the negative though as this show had a ton of positives. To start with, the Punisher was everything I expected, everything I wanted, and probably some more. Jon Bernthal was the perfect casting decision and is by far the best Punisher we've seen so far. Every episode he was in was some of the best episodes of the series and he has probably cracked my top 3 of favorite MCU heroes so far with only Captain America and Iron Man ahead of him. Some of his lines and monologues were spectacular. Secondly, Season 2 took the character of Foggy, who I didn’t really care for in the first series, and kind of redeemed him a bit. He still isn’t my favorite character, but I do remotely like him now. I might even say the same thing for Karen. Lastly, I liked Matt Murdock as Daredevil in Season 1, but didn’t necessarily love him. However, Season 2 finally fully sold me on him, and of all MCU characters that might appear in the Spider-Man solo film, I hope it is him or the Punisher. Those would fit well with the comics too. Lastly, I think I saw some criticism about the ending being too open-ended and cliffhangery, which I don’t necessarily agree with. I feel like I got the closure I needed with yeah, a little bit of the cliff hanger, but not bad.

Overall, great show that was very entertaining. This series only makes me like the Netflix format that much better than a network television one where there is so many more parameters they’ve got to work within. I also liked how this series thoroughly made me excited for what is to come, particularly with Daredevil, Punisher, and “slight spoiler alert†the Kingpin.

I don't have a problem with cliffhanger ending, my nitpick (since I loved the show) was the stuff with the Hand that were introduced as part of major storylines halfway through the season (or even LAST season) and then never even mentioned again or even partially explained. The biggest being the giant hole the Hand were digging, and to a lesser extent the "Black Sky". The latter has gone on through 2 seasons now with little to no explanation to what it actually means.

Yeah, I totally agree. It is perfectly alright and one thing to introduce the Black Sky in Season 1 only to hold off for Season 2 to get the actual reveal of what it is. It is another thing to then tease it again for another whole half season in Season 2, only to have to wait for another future season of something to finally figure it out. Teasing something through 1 season is totally cool, whereas teasing something through 2 seasons just gets kind of annoying. With that said, if you are going to do it, it better be a REALLY good payoff or I’m going to be even more annoyed.

I have not seen Serenity, but I've got to say I'm skeptical. I personally do agree with the best space epic since Star Wars. As for Deadpool, while it is Marvel, it is not part of the MCU, so the OP's comment is correct.

Yeah, kind of the Lost effect. They teased some things for so long that when they got to the actual pay off no one cared anymore.

That said, I'm not too concerned and I think Season 3 is going to be all about The Hand vs The Chaste War and should explain most of that stuff early on.

Keep in mind that officially, Daredevil Season 3 hasn't been announced yet so that needs to get announced first before your statement might be true. However, even with a Season 3, I'd argue that the Hand vs Chaste War is more likely to carry over into The Defenders series and probably get played out there, especially once you consider that fact that a Season 3 of Daredevil, if it happens, will almost certainly be AFTER The Defenders series. In fact, just today, they announced that filming will start for The Defenders series this fall/winter.

I'm not so sure on this. Given the time between DD S1 and S2, I've read some speculating DD S3 could premier right before the first season of Defenders next Spring. Just makes more sense to me to wrap up (somewhat) the DD storyline before moving on to trying to have a new coherent story involving JJ, Ironfist, LC, AND DD. However, I know that there are some weird contractual timelines with The Defenders show so maybe the Netflix Marvel wing have their hands tied.

I guess it is possible, but with filming starting on The Defenders this fall/winter, I'm not sure when they plan on filming Season 3 to be able to squeeze it out there. If they do, they would be working with a REALLY short turnaround timeline which makes me really skeptical of that outcome, but who knows. Maybe they will. Part of me wants The Hand to mostly stick to the Daredevil series, so that we can get some brand new threat in the Defenders series. However, part of me wouldn't mind it carrying into The Defenders. A lot of this depends on how good the actual Black Sky reveal turns out to be.

I hadn't heard this yet. This could be a case of the Defenders being DareDevil Season 3, similar to Captain America Civil War is Avengers 3. Makes a lot of sense to do it that way:

DareDevil Season 1
Jessica Jones Season 1
DareDevil Season 2
Luke Cage - September 2016
Iron Fist - Early 2017
Defenders - 2017
Jessica Jones - Season 2. This is the wildcard. Does JJ Season 2 build up to the Defenders, or does it deal with the fallout afterward?

And then eventually build up to "Heroes for Hire" as Luke Cage/Iron Fist Season 2 - wishful thinking on my part.

Yeah, here is the article for that:

So the Doctor Strange teaser was a bit neat.

Looks very trippy for sure, but that is what they have been saying all along. While it looks cool, it will be interesting how it all fits within the MCU. I could see them pulling it off well, or I could also see it being a little too much. Count me as hoping for the first one.

Also, the title of Spider-Man: Homecoming was just announced for the new solo Spider-Man movie:

Count me as slightly unimpressed with the name, although it makes sense, and even more unimpressed with the logo. Yuck!!!! Please change!!!!! Terrible font first of all. Personally, I was really hoping for the simple name of Marvel's Spider-Man as it would have been perfect. However, deep down, I've known all along that Sony would NEVER allow that name.

I am PUMPED for this and I think Marvel played their cards really well with this... because imagine how much hype there will be for this Supernatural-themed movie if the new Ghostbusters film does well.

I would be shocked if it did well. I actually hope it bombs.

I am very excited for this movie but this trailer did nothing for me. This just made me more disappointed that they brought in Tilda Swinton for The Ancient One. I am still excited for the movie and hope the next trailer does more for me.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I really liked Tilda Swinton in Constantine. Her features are just so ambiguous that I felt added quite a bit and made her character in that film much more "supernatural." I think the same can be done in this film, where she is this ageless mentor of ambiguous gender that you don't quite know if she is even human. I think she is the perfect casting if that is indeed how she is going to portray this role and I really hope she knocks it out of the park.

I'm so sorry, but I literally busted out laughing when I read the bold part. Don't get me wrong as I'm as optimistic of a person as they come, but I see pretty much ZERO chance of the new Ghostbusters movie being anything but a failure. Shoot, I never say stuff like that either. Therefore, I sure hope the success of Dr. Strange has nothing to do with the train wreck that will be the Ghostbusters movie.

This. She is also just one of those crazy good actresses that is good at whatever she does.
