I watched Eternals last night and left the theater feeling like it had not met my fairly low expectations *shrugs*. Ikaris and Kingo are absolutely the two most interesting eternals and carried the movie for me.

Just putting in my two cents about the Eternals. I had some low expectations, I stayed away from all the spoilers and with those, I really enjoyed it. It's hard to develop and pull you into the story in one movie where they have only so much time to develop the characters and usually not as much on the villain.

After a bit though I thought that the trailers kind of spoiled it for the Icarus twist. If you saw the trailer, you knew he and Ajak had met on her farm, and since he was acting like he hadn't seen her, you knew something was up.

But anywho, I liked it. Not my favorite and not my least.

This is why I’ve stopped watching trailers. They give away way too much. I won’t watch the Spider-Man trailer until after I see it.

Re-watched Shang-Chi tonight and I really like that movie. Just a really solid origin story that sets up a bunch of stuff. Plus Wong is awesome. Guy needs his own Disney+ show

Saw this last night, I enjoyed Eternals for what it was. Given the scope of the plot that was a TALL order to fit into a movie, and honestly considering everything they covered it NEEDED a 2 1/2 hour runtime. I agree the pacing was really clumsy, and I often found myself a little disoriented by the jumps in time. As a coherent movie I felt like it failed, but I thought the strength of the characters and the importance of the lore held it up.

I've heard that this movie would have done better as two separate films, but I'd go a step further and suggest that this could have been a stronger film if they brought out the Eternals as a Disney+ series and then capped the story off as they did in this movie as its own movie. All the characters would have benefited from their own "episode" to develop their character just to allow us to feel the stakes a bit better.

Also, I'm officially an old fart now. Eros and Pip showed up in the stinger, and I recognized the characters immediately but I had no idea it was Harry Styles playing Eros. I know the name but did not recognize the face at all.

I finally finished What If and saw Shang Chi this past week. Do we know yet how either of these fit into the rest of MCU puzzle?

Why was Bruce in a sling but back in human form in the post credit scene? Have I missed something

Probably $$$.

ALSO, another Eternals end-credit spoiler:

I just found out that was Mahershala Ali was the voice that spoke to Dane Whitman asking "are you sure you want to do that?" just before he picks up the Ebony Blade. Holy ****!

Feige said in an interview it would all be explained in the She-Hulk series

Looks like Hawkeye is getting pretty good reviews

Fun couple of episodes. They're introducing a ton of characters all at once.
Kate admiring Hawkeye makes a lot of sense right away.
They haven't used his name yet, but they have the Swordsman in there, and it looks like they might make the Swordsman a worthwhile character. That ain't easy.

Ep 1 down. Liking it so far.

Just wondering how soon before we get official confirmation that Young Avengers is happening considering we seen 5 or 6 members already.

The beginning of Episode 1 of Hawkeye was fantastic because all this time when the Avengers are blowing crap up and a full-on war is going on, there are real, everyday people (like the Battle of New York) that are impacted. Seeing it from a citizen's perspective was really cool. Loving this series through two episodes and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye is such a perfect casting, I am glad he finally gets a chance to really shine.

I guess Marvel overall just isn't for me. Not a fan and couldn't keep my interest. Better half is a huge Marvel fan and thinks 'it's good enough I guess but not must watch'

The Marvel fatigue is a real thing. There was no way it wasn't going to happen to a large portion of people who invested so many years growing with these lovable characters and building, and building and building to arguably the most amazing crescendo cinema has seen.

Now that storyline is all wrapped up, and all of these new characters and adventures aren't our loveable Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, etc. (most notably the actors/actresses). Marvel's stuff will still be great IF you can somehow separate the new from the old. Problem is that's nearly impossible to do because the Infinity storyline build and finish was basically perfect.

I liken it to a super sped of version of the original three Star Wars films and then getting the prequels or even the recent three (Episodes 7, 8 and 9). The first three films are sacred and those characters are irreplaceable because of who they are and the actors/actresses that played them. Doesn't matter what Marvel does from here on out, they aren't touching the pure magic of the First three phases they produced.
