The link you provided and the story everyone is talking about is not the same thing.

Now it makes sense, I assumed we were talking about the OP.

For the record I have no problem with Morehouse, I expect him to cater to hawk fans who are trying to find excuses as to why they lost yesterday. That's his job and he's good at it. He's the one who had updates on Sherff and Ott all week.

I haven't read anything by this guy before so if there is a history I can see where you are coming from but this article was all about how that penalty hurt them. I didn't see anything Morehouse printed that he suggested it was the wrong call. In fact, there is an article linked to that one written by him that says it was indeed the correct call- and its worth the click.

I see that as an article that is discussing the ejection, not blaming the refs. Regardless, the same exact call hurt ISU against NDSU with Cotton-Moya. Yeah there was no intent, and I think you should have to confirm intent before the ejection, but it was the right call based on the current rules. Good teams can overcome the loss of key players.
That's just it. It was the right call based on the current rules. The rule might suck but it was enforced correctly.

Two thoughts:

1) Good rule or bad rule, it was a target. You can find me saying the exact same thing for Cotton-Moya, it's difficult with the speed of the game to hit a guy legally in the chest, but at the same time if you tackle with your eyes up it wouldn't be an issue. When you've got your head down and your hands back, leading with your head and shoulder, you're putting yourself at risk.

2) I don't know how they can come close to claiming this one call had a direct bearing on the outcome of the game. Iowa State had it's share of questionable calls against it-- the PI, Meyer's "late hit", the non hold on Ferch, etc. I love how Iowa's attitude towards football is we will keep it close and expect to have every break go our way. Works great when they get the breaks (UNI and Ball State) but it's comical to watch the reaction when they don't.

3) How about you grow a pair, Morehouse, and blame Ferentz if you're going to blame anyone. I'm still waiting to see the piece that calls out the man making millions for his inept handling of that game.
