Please cry me a river. Husband went ahead and picked up McDonald’s in hospital basement even though I told him it made me sick during first labor to smell it. Then he fell asleep on loveseat in the room.
My ex left the room three times to go call his mother and complain about how long it was taking (~9 hours at the hospital after quite a few hours of early stage prior to going to the hospital).

Notice the "ex" part...although that was fifteen years later.

and @carvers4math you will enjoy this one.

With our third MrsWx was yet again having preeclampsia type of symptoms despite data wise (BP, CT etc.) not showing anything to indicate it. She was high risk for several reasons tied to this so we had to go to UIHC for everything. SO we had a regularly scheduled OB checkup somewhere around 37 weeks. She yet again complained about these symptoms in the clinic so they sent her up to the unit to be monitored/tested more. After six+ hours of little progress and still not being admitted so we were in a triage room I decided to go home and take our oldest to an event for his wrestling club that we had already planned on and would come back down after. Mind you we live in Marion.

Long story short after another 2-3 hours they FINALLY take her to get a CT that was ordered hours before. It of course comes back normal but they decide to admit her and get her into a normal room for the night of monitoring. I get the kids put to bed at home and after discussion with her decide to go to bed myself.

The facts until this point are undisputed by all parties.

A couple of hours later for whatever dumb reason they suddenly decide "okay yeah lets go ahead and induce her". MrsWx starts to try and call me BUT I am asleep and my phone is on silent. She is able to get in touch with her mom who is on standby to come over to be with the older two while I go down to UIHC. The timing of when I woke up, saw what was happening and drove down/arrived at UIHC is highly debated. I arrived AT LEAST five hours before our daughter was born. I accept I will never live this down and have made changes to my phones settings for when MrsWx calls.

Husband is now bemoaning having to deal with both a sinus headache AND chest congestion. I'm not sure how he will make it through. :jimlad:

After a couple middle of the night trips to the hospital, 3 lithotripsy procedures, having to pull a stent tied to a string out the end of my **** while standing in the shower reciting the Hail Mary prayer, and being placed on two prescription meds for the rest of my life, I can say with a very high degree of certainty that kidney stones rank way up there on the pain scale.

But it's not like it's cancer or something, so I'm not going to complain.

Labor & delivery twice, kidney stones x3, including developing full blown sepsis due to the blockage on the one. IMO, kidney stones were worse (and my deliveries were both natural childbirth, no drugs or epidurals).

OTOH, my husband had a kidney stone for five years (doctor's estimate) and never once complained about pain. Soooooo, I guess we're a little backwards!

I had a Urology Apt this AM where they went in both exits. My wife: "now you know what women have to do every year". HELLO - that is an entry and exit and is designed to grow. They will never understand what us poor men have to suffer through.

That front door for men is WAY smaller than the women’s.
