Make or Break Weekend

Sagarin Ratings: Strength of Schedule:

BU: 87th

ISU: 94th

Iowa wasn't ranked when you played them. Given, they are undefeated, but I doubt they beat OU.

You're kidding yourself if you think Kansas beats the Sooners.

Kansas DESTROYS Wake???????? Wake's 4-2, and would hang with Kansas all day....and Wake would beat Iowa State.

Kansas State = UCONN??? If you count Louisiana-La as a Div-I team....then I guess KState has 2 D-I wins. UCONN is 3-2 with losses of 3pts and 2pts. KState blows, and is close to the worst team in the entire conference. Y'all lost, but it's obvious the Cyclones are still the better team.

Replace Colorado and KState with OU and Texas......and you basically have Baylor's schedule. So, ABSOLUTELY our schedule is tougher.

Keep drinking the coolaid man, you might just convince yourself. Sagarian rating difference of seven spots equals a much tougher schedule? I think your definition of much tougher probably differs from most.

Iowa wasn't ranked when you played them? Really, that is an argument you think is valid?

You are kidding yourself if you think Wake hangs with Kansas, but I don't really think you believe that. You are just fitting arguments around your desired outcome.

UConn is horrible. Who are you trying to fool here?

So now you are defending your argument that Baylor has scored more points against a much tougher schedule by saying games yet to be played are against tough teams? You, sir, are just plain silly.

I should rephrase my first statement. As a whole, Baylor's schedule is tougher. I realize y'all have a good running game, and probable that you could have been better playing Kent later in the season. But so would Baylor. We lost Griffin, and beat Kent State by a similar margin with a 3rd string true freshman making his first start. Our first game of the season in a sense was vs. Kent. We could woulda, coulda, shoulda all day long.

I'm just saying that this game is more evenly matched than some Cyclones think. Our level of competitiveness vs similar teams has been identical.

How in the world would you consider that your first game? I'm not guaranteeing a win. I will say we should win. I would even go as far as to say we should win by a healthy margin. I am sure Kansas would have said the same thing last week too. We should be able to run the ball all over you guys. The statistics say that. There is no stat you can throw out to say that we shouldn't be able to run all over you.

Arguing about Iowa is a moot point. OU and Iowa both blew us out by the same margin.

Texas and OU on the schedule makes Baylor's schedule tougher than yours.

Wake (4-2): both losses by a field goal (3 bowl trips in a row, recent ACC title). They are the Kansas of the ACC.

UCONN (3-2): both losses by a field goal or less (back to back bowls)

If UCONN is horrible, then ISU and Baylor should be dropped to Division II.

KState (3-3): blow out loss, mediocre loss, embarrasing loss to L-Laf. Had to come from behind to beat a D-II school in the 4th qtr. KState is quite possibly the worst team in the Big 12.

Fitting arguements to fit around a desired outcome? Look in the mirror.

I've only stated facts.

It was our QB's first start...that changes EVERYTHING on our offense. That's how I "theoretically" consider it a "1st" game.

Well, I say again to another poster...look in the mirror. There is no reason that we shouldn't be able to run all over you as well. Unless you have OU's d-line vs our back-up RB. You don't have their line, and Finley is back. Looks like both our teams will be running all over the place.

Except you refuse to consider the fact that we have played 5 out of 6 games against teams that predominantly run the ball. Trust me, you won't run all over us. You may throw all over us, but you won't run all over us.

Convenient that you want to consider something that goes against you a "moot" point.

This was your exact quote "We've averaged more points on offense with a tougher schedule.". Please tell me again how tough future games defend this point. I could care less if you say anything else, I want you to explain how Texas on your future schedule supports your original argument.

I'm not going to wast time arguing UConn and Wake. If you really want to use them as barometers for good programs then you're wackier than you have come across so far. Why don't you do us all a favor and crawl back into your hole five days early?

How well do ya'lls DBs cover the deep ball? The only reason we didn't score more during the OU game was because of a couple of good plays by OU's DBs, and a couple of bogus non-PI calls. We have some speed to get behind the defense, and playing anyone but OU or UT last week and we score a lot more points. Plus I don't think your offense is as good as OU's and 4 different trips into the redzone they got held to field goals instead of TD's, and on another trip they got 3 extra downs after being stopped on 4th down with a bogus roughing the passer call. Also how good is your field goal kicker?

oh and to the people thinking we won't run the ball we averaged nearly 200 yards on the ground until the OU game. that was with games against UConn and Wake, both of which see more run based offenses, now the #s were slightly inflated against NWLST with 283, but some of that was because Baylor was ahead by so much they just didn't want to throw and the other team couldn't have tackled a kindergartener.

Also how good is your field goal kicker?

Very good, he made one from 50 earlier in the year that would have been good from 60... Missed one from 55 in that same game just wide. I don't know if the stats say he missed a FG against KU, it was a bad snap and the holder tried to roll out and pass. He did have a PAT blocked against KState, and then missed his next 2 tries, but i dont think you can hold that against him since before that he was something like 45/45 career.

Hold on one moment - the ARob detractors (a.k.a. Baylor fans) that keep saying that the rushing game didn't show up against Iowa, the one good defense that he played all year - well, the guy rushed 19 times for 100 yards against them, good for ~5.0 yards per carry. ARob was holding his own just fine against the so-called "one good defense we've played all year" - the problem was we didn't tap that well nearly as much as we should have.

There's no question y'all have a good running game. Even against Iowa you went over 100 (i think). But Sunset seems to think y'all have OJ in the backfield behind the Patriot's O-line. And apparently ISU is better than Wake and UCONN on any given year. Truth is....BU and ISU are dead even w/out Griffin. BU fans are a little worried, and ISU is looking at this game as another measuring stick. Makes for a great game that will unfortunately not be televised.

Please refrain from referring to me as part of "y'all". How freaking hard is it to just say/type "you all"?

The deep ball depends on whos side of the field. I have faith that LJ can cover it deep most of the time and KB has the ability to, it is usually a matter of him playing the ball. Sims at safety has some speed but sometimes he breaks on the ball wrong.

Y'all do realize "Roll Tide" is an Alabama thing, and that you can can't steal it. Course, y'all could be a Tide fan just hanging out in the wrong place, I guess.

You are a complete idiot. I never, not once, commented on our rushing game (I beg you to go back in this thread and point out where I did, I'll be waiting for your response). Please ground your comments in something that somewhat resembles reality.

I'm beginning to think you are the much missed Osoprimo logged on with a new name. As I said earlier, please crawl back into whatever hole you came from.

Not to mention he hasn't watched the Patriots very much and knows nothing about them but still cites them in his posts. The Patriots don even run the ball well. They throw the ball.
