Both are fun to watch. Mahomes has the stats to this point but I'd take either and who would depend on the team around them.

This reminds me of the "Whose better Manning or Brady" regular season debate. Then we would get to the playoffs and there was only one of the qb's left playing and all of sudden no one wanted to debate it anymore.

Seriously, what has allen ever won? I'd love to see a list of his greatest wins, accomplishments, whatever...

Did you watch the game between them last year? It came down to a coin flip.

They're both capable of being the greatest of all time. I don't really like Mahomes and admittedly it probably has a lot to do with his family coattail riding but you can't go wrong with either. I will say I do think that if you switch which teams they're drafted to and how they're set up, Allen may look better but there's no way to know that. Gun to my head, I'd take Allen, but there's no wrong choice here.

Surprised the poll is that close. For me it's Mahomes no question, give him the same defense that Allen has and he'd have at least another SB if not 2.

Put an average qb in KC and that team doesn't make the playoffs, put one in Buffalo and they're still ok.

Has to be Mahomes. Allen is great, but Mahomes is better in almost every way…other than running. And you have to figure Allen’s running ability will start to fall off due to an injury or age…always happens.

I mean, statistically this just isn't true. Allen has had a higher completion percentage 2 out of the last 3 seasons, their ypa across the last 3 seasons is almost exactly the same, and their interception rates are very similar.

Edit: Really screwed up the timeline there

While true, you could also argue Mahomes was put in the better situation immediately with the weapons KC had on offense and being coached by Andy Reid. Today Buffalo had the better overall team, but that wasn't always the case.

Until he got Diggs, he had nothing. Mahomes had the most dynamic receiver in the game and arguably the best TE in the game. Oh, and really good RBs.

Mahomes has the slight edge for me, but I really like what Allen does too.

KC vs BUF is must-watch TV. Easily the most entertaining match up in the NFL.

Definitely agree on Hill and Kelce, but 'really good RBs' is a major stretch.
CEH has been underwhelming by most standards. Pacheco looks like he could be a nice player. Otherwise you're looking at Darrel and Damien Williams and one decent year with Kareem Hunt. I'd argue them not having a good RB is keeping them back from being truly unstoppable

Both are elite QBs, but what Mahomes has been able to accomplish in his career thus far is unmatched when considering what KC has had for defenses:

2018: KC defense ranked 31st in total YPG
2019: 17th
2020: 16th
2021: 27th
2022: Currently 20th

Chiefs would have that dynasty if they could put out a perennial top 10 defense.

Soooooooooooooo nothing? Allen has won nothing? Yeahhhhhhh thats what I thought.

Thats right, allen couldn't even win a coin flip (figuratively and literally).

313-150 + 184-92 + 129-58 + 38:15-21:45 = 10-7

This. Kelce will go down as an all-time great TE and along with Hill, those are two ridiculous offensive weapons that Mahomes has had that are way above and beyond anything Allen has had before Diggs, and even with SD he hasn't had much else.

You could put forward a good argument that Gabe Davis could be a WR1 on some other teams.

Shocked I tell you that Mahomes is winning this argument within a 3 hour radius of KC. Why don't we put up a Dekkers or Petras debate and see who people here got? And personally they're both freaking good.

Also should be Maholmes was given a year to sit and learn taking over for a Playoff team after Alex Smith.
Allen a raw prospect forced to play for a Bill's team that was gutting the team by cutting bad salary to set their rebuild.

QB wins are a not a stat that should be stated, Wins are a team statistic.
(Counting Allen last playoff game against him when he scored with 13 seconds left is also ridiculous)

And I am a totally bias Bills fan. Both are great, both can do things that separate them from all the other QB's in the game. BillsMafia and ChiefsKindom are lucky to root for their guy and both have equal cases for being the best.

I'm of the very strong opinion that QBs largely are as successful as the franchise they get drafted to. If they get drafted and the franchise doesn't help them, it's going to be really tough for them to be successful. In fact, I can't really think a of a long term successful QB in a bad franchise in the modern NFL. Maybe Rodgers for a couple years there but that's a stretch. Maybe Cutler in Chicago? It's just so rare.

Same here. I admittedly watch very little NFL. So there's that. :jimlad:
