MACtion is back!

Western Michigan fake spike for the lead! HOLY ****!

Hate fake spike plays. Cause the minute one of those defensive linemen go full speed and blow up the offensive line, that coach will complain about how that's not how they're supposed to play.

Even kneel downs can irritate me. My senior year of HS, the other team was in victory formation saying they were kneeling, the qb didn't kneel and took off while we were all standing there since you aren't supposed to blast through. Ran for about 30 yards and then dropped down since our safety was closing in. A couple years ago My son got reamed by a ref when he flew through a kneel down but the other team needed to kill about five seconds more so the qb just took the snap and stood there. My son blitzed and tried to knock the ball loose (and did) while the qb stood there. One of the qb's teammates recovered but my son got destroyed in the stands and on message boards later for that.

IMO, you have to line up and play whatever the play is until the whistle is blown.

Well, if only that was the problem it would of never happened. Anyway, WMU completed a pass for a first down in the middle of the field. Ball maybe around the 7 yard line or so. They had no time outs and there was 30 seconds? left. QB motioned like he wanted to spike the ball, his offense lined up in a hurry. The offense is trained to line up where they are at so the snap can happen quickly. One of their receivers ran from just to the right of where the ball was placed, all the way out to the left, split out like he normally would be. He was either lucky dumb or sneaky smart. Toledo's corner was not paying attention and did not widen out. He was Unlucky dumb! He entered transfer portal as soon as bus arrived back in Toledo. Looking to get out of town fast! Toledo tried to say after the fact that the head referee blowing the whistle to start the clock again once chains were set caused them to not be ready. I have no idea if the whistle blew or not and don't care because that usually happens unless I'm having an extreme case of OLD TIMERS. Anyway, I CALL BS! I believe their QB saw the gift in front of him, thanked Santa and just faked the spike and lofted a cupcake pass out to the now laughing, smart receiver who was standing all alone in the end-zone thinking about how many co-eds would be vying for his attention later that night. From the body language of the WMU coach, best described as, " what the he....oh my gosh we are going to win....", I think he had no idea what was happening when the QB threw it. Thanks for reminding me of this glorious event! I am going to buy a NUT CUP immediately, even though I'm so old it really does not matter. I NOW UNDERSTAND THE ISU FAITHFUL!

CYCSK, is that objective enough for you all?

The entire defense on that final drive was a joke. Before the fake spike play there was 3 or 4 plays where WMU completed a pass in the middle of the field and was able to get out of bounds.

Yesterday Buffalo wins with their RB getting over 300 yards and 4 TD's. Kent State goes over 60 points for second game in a row. Tonight Western Michigan and Central Michigan combine for 96 points.

The only bad part of Buffalo's RB going crazy like that was it limited Buffalo's QB to 12 throws!

Kent State's QB is good! I got him going as a 5th round pick.

It was cool to see Richard Bowens getting a lot of PT for Western Michigan last night.
