Luke Combs at JTS

Heard April 11th for Luke Combs. Also heard they are pushing for AC/DC in September.

Just saw AC/DC's new schedule for next year. No JTS. :( They did have Madison, WI, St. Louis, MO, Notre Dame, IN, and Columbus OH, to name a few.

Heads up for those that are going - you might want to make some parking contingency plans. Ames has had 4.1" inches of rain since Thursday and calling for more at the end of the week and on Saturday. Good chance there is no grass lot parking.

Weird question - do people tailgate for this? Group of people I'm going with are debating going out for dinner or tailgating, but don't want to be the only ones doing it.

90% chance you would not be the only one. The pickup and supplies are ready, just having to have people decide yes/no for sure. We did for strait.

Why I spent an extra 20 bucks for paved.

We did for George Strait. Think we parked at MWL for that one. Bunch of people were out, but it was also better weather.

Does anyone know how long the event will actually be? I see gates open at 5pm, first performer starts at 5:20pm.

I had assumed total show (including all openers + Luke Combs) would be 3-4 hrs, but maybe I'm wrong. I've never been to a big stadium concert like this before.

We also parked at tailgated at MWL for Strait.
We didn't head to the stadium until Stapleton already had a few songs done.

Can't see the grass lots opened for parking if we get the rain they are talking about the rest of the week. Going to be a zoo trying to find parking for all those people without the grass lots being opened.

According to his previous shows on this tour, openers start about 5:30 like you noted and Luke will be on from about 9-11pm.

Luke is on about 8:55, and is done at 11pm after an astounding 28 songs!

The thing to remember is that classes are still in session this weekend, so chances are many cars will be in the MWL lot.

Oh yeah I wasn't suggesting people park there, we had a special pass for that lot at the Strait concert IIRC. Just saying that we were in a paved lot & tailgating was common (in response to the poster asking if people tailgated at these).

I would expect it to follow football rules and parking will be allowed elsewhere on campus but no tailgating. We have gotten our hand slapped by ISUPD for this a time or two.

I assume there will be tailgating around the stadium, but yeah, wouldn't surprise me if they don't want you tailgating in (occupied) dorm parking lots.
