ASU also didn’t have Leavitt. I don’t know what the details were with his foot but I’d bet my mortgage he’s back in a few weeks when he comes here.
He very well could be. But their defense gave up 42, they struggled at home against TCU team that got blown out by K State

I guess my point is why do people think all these next set of games the teams are so much better than what ISU just played. Don't think they are. They all have lots of warts (ISU included).

In the Big 12 once you remove OSU, WV from the bottom and Tech from the top it's pretty balanced. A bounce here and turnover there and things can change. Home field for most schools is worth 3 or 4 points..

Now ISU has to play better, cannot make dumb penalties, cannot drop that many passes etc. They lost TO battle yesterday too.

If they play solid football they could win the rest, if they play like yesterday they could lose the rest. Well maybe not OSU.

Kansas and ASU got thumped. They were not even competitive. TCU got whooped by KSU.

BYU is the only team yesterday that won and they got a gift PI call in the end zone late in the game to help them tie it.

So maybe they are the only won who played oka

But let's not kid ourselves it's not a murders row schedule.
KU stuck with Tech longer and closer than the final score indicated. Given our recent history against them, I I'd be very pleasantly surprised if we have a shot against them in the 4th quarter.

ASU needs Leavitt back, but I also think Utah is a genuinely good team that took out a lot of their frustrations against a QB-less opponent. If he's back under center against us, they'll be able to move the ball and we'll have to keep up.

BYU and TCU are closer to our level, but that won't matter if we don't play better than we have been.

KU is still explosive on offense and their defense is leaky but they were also teeing off at times last night before Tech tightened up and took care of things.

ASU struggled against TCU at home.i just don't think they are any better than majority of this conference. Guess they are getting street cred from last year :-)

KU history is valid will see how their season goes. Tech was playing their back up QB and still won 42-17.

Still think if ISU plays well they sweep the home games. If they don't play at least better, as you say it won't matter.

I am curious to see who will play Tech in Arlington. I agree I think Utah is pretty good. That holy war game next week will be fun

By teams that would drill us right now in similar fashion. No it is not a murderers row of a schedule, but the last 2 weeks hasn't been either.

Thus the point there is no difference between ISU and them

And you play them at home.

Comes down to who executes better. ISU executes they beat them if they dont they won't

You could play perfectly and still lose to Tech

These 2 losses could have just as easily been wins. It wasn't a case of being outclassed. Adjusting to the injuries, on the road, as been problematic. I expect improvement, plus being at home, to lead to better results.

Hopefully some things get cleaned up with the bye week but I don't think the sloppiness and weird penalties isn't a personnel issue.

Also things like going to a TE under center instead of just getting to the line and getting downhill are very avoidable.

Hopefully in two weeks they're more succinct in these areas.

The turning point in the best football run in ISU history was after a bye in 2017. After the bye, we came out with a 3-3-5 defense to get our best players on the field. My hope is that after this bye, we see a 4-3-4 defense. Of course, no idea if DL are our best players.

DL is probably our worst players, which is depressing

In order of likelihood:

9-3
10-2
8-4
7-5
11-1
6-6
5-7

I think they’re pulling out another 10 win season if you include the bowl game.
Regrettably I believe 6-6 and even 5-7 are more likely than 11-1 now.

My revised, in order of likelihood guess:

8-4
9-3
7-5
6-6
10-2
5-7

Seeing Rocco choke up post game?
I gotta believe he'll rise up, as will as his teammates, particularly at home. Great young man, as is Abu

I'll take reality over anything, we might have 2 wins left, Kansas and OKST. Go to a bowl at get 8th win. The issue now is the increased expectations of the program. last few weeks are a taste of reality.

With how Kansas has had our number the last few years I'm worried we'll be playing for bowl eligibility in Stillwater.
