A couple of observations on my part:

Karen Aston has never smiled in her entire life. She's better than the woefully overconfident Gail ever was, but Texas isn't a good fit for her.

Every time I came into the living room to watch the game, we bricked a shot. I stayed on the other side of the house for the 4th Q and followed on my phone.

You can't stop Carleton, you can only hope to contain her (and even then...).

This team certainly shot the ball much better than they did against UT in Hilton (hence the win).

Iowa State needs to send this team out on a high note in the regular season finale in Hilton on Monday! I hope the fans show up to celebrate some amazing seniors, but I know a Monday game won't draw as well as one on the weekend.

Good job, Cyclones! Now, rack up a few more Ws!

Did anyone expect we'd be in second place at season's end pre-season? I did set my sights on this goal as beating Baylor for first place was pushing our "Bridget too far." Next year it will be fallback for Iowa State losing Carelton and Baylor will stay powerful losing only (I think) Brown.

Honestly, yes. I knew there could be a very legitimate possibility of us doing well enough to take 2nd place this season. A LOT of things had to come together (and virtually everything did) for ISU to be in that position by the first week of March. The execution is always key when attempting to achieve this type of goal. Fennelly had a plan, trusted his players to follow that plan, and look where we are now. Just got to keep it going a bit longer. :)

You can do a lot on your own to be successful. But at times, like now, fortune smiles upon us. Enjoy our team as we have had to endure some years of utter frustration without that little luck.

They also lose Chloe Jackson which had really helped out this year.

The Clones came out of the gates shooting hot. They popped so many three's in the first quarter that TX really never recooped. IMO Joens was the mvp. She had a marvelous game.

Joens is in the Top 5 in the Big 12 in conference play for 3pt%. Scott is #2, Joens #4 and Carleton #5. Hard to say we shoot TOO many when you have three hitting at around 40%. Okay, maybe we shoot too many sometimes but I can't complain when any of these three launch one that isn't forced. This is also Carleton's best year for 3pt %.

Glad to see you're not superstitious. ;)
