Well we're less than a month away from school. For those of us heading to (or back to) Ames this fall, where's everybody living?

I'll be at the grove. Anybody else lived there this past year? I'm hoping how nice it is will outweigh how poorly it seems to be managed. I haven't lived there yet though so we'll see.

Also, for anyone who has lived there, I got my assignment today. My building number was something like 1423. Anybody know which building that is?
 
Watch out with threads like these, people will **** on them. I would give you a real answer, but it seems that ******** is appropriate in this situation.
 
I know there's plenty of dorm type threads around. But I didn't see one worth bringing back that might address my question. It's more of me asking about the Grove than anything.
 
Cyclone Plaza next year! So pumped but I have heard horror stories about Campustown property management.

You won't like it as much as you think. Seems to be a common theme with people that live in campustown.

To the OP, I'm in a house this year.
 
Im living at the grove too. I am pretty excited about it. Get a room that overlooks a green on the golf course and have a nice view of JT.

As long as they take care of maintenance requests and aren't too nitpicky about parties, we should get along just fine. I have some friends that say Cyclone can be a blast if you know how to throw parties right (as in not letting it get crazy to the point campustown is banging on your door). But I also had some friends lose their party priviledges at campustown due to a rando. I'm hoping I have learned from them.

Living there now, or will be?

I'm really excited to move in! Just wish I knew which building it was. And do you know by chance which room corresponds to which room letter? (ex. 240A..240B..) I just kinda want the room down the hall haha

First time living in an apartment? It's fun for a little while unless you have ****** neighbors.

Yes it is. Just thrilled to be out of the dorms. Wasn't a huge fan of my floor and looking forward to be able to have my own space to get away.

Oh and I understand I can just switch rooms with my roommates. I'm just antsy to get back to Ames.
 
University Village. Of course that is where I am staying at right now and will continue on through the fall.

Probably the best place to live in Ames as a student.
 
Campustown is beyond terrible right now due to the Michelle ***** that is the manager right now. All her employees are scared of her, and she has received many complaints about her actions with tenants at the corporate office. It will not surprise me if she is fired this upcoming fall. For the sake of campustown, they should fire her immediately after moving out/moving in is done. I cannot wait to be moved out of my apartment in campustown.

I'll be at the grove this upcoming year as well.

I lived at the grOve last year.. Loved everything About it. Basically it is like a giant party 24/7 the pool is awesome the apartments are really nice built a little cheap but so what. I liked it so much that I resigned for next year I am in building 1419 overlooking the golf course and jack trice.

I am living with Missouricyclone you and cynado are more than invited and drink beer with us.

The good...... Lots of party's women, the pool, my bed having ur own bathroom the people are really cool. Easy walk to jack trice for football


The bad.... It's in a really bad location it makes skipping class justifiable.. Sometimes a hassle to go out to the bars on the weeknights and weekends.

Overall I love the joint last year was great looking forward to meeting you..
