Lindell Wigginton

That would be sweet, but remember he isn't the main 'point' guard at Oak Hill. Coleman is. Would think he'll have to grow in that position and almost have a different role than now.

He is exactly the kind of PG Prohm wants though. Athletic and quick and the ability to get in the lane and finish or find the open man.

Terrance Allen was the best leaper I remember at ISU in my time. I took a basketball officiating PE class at ISU and Terrance was in it. Taught us how to throw up jump balls. Seemed like no matter how high we tossed it, he could still get it.
Man, he could sky, although he played more as a shooting guard. Gary Tompkins elevated pretty well also.

Jackson and NWB will shoulder some of the pg burden too imo. Maybe Long, too.
I'm really hoping Jakolby Long makes huge strides between this year and next. Just by him practicing against some really good P5 guards, I think that has to help his development. I think(hope?) he could be a very pleasant surprise

Wigginton could end up being the best PG in ISU history, no offense Monte. He just has the athleticism that Monte doesn't that could make him elite.

Yeah I think it would be a surprise. But like they say, can be a lot of improvement from a freshmen to a sophomore.

Underrated dunker - Hoiberg, when he was a Freshman (before he blew out his knee), could really leap.

Also, does anybody count Royce White as a pg? In the second half of that year, when the defensive pressure was tough, he broke the press and ran the offense as much as anybody.

I mean, he was a 4 star out of HS, so he has talent, it is about the mental aspect of the game and getting his body to where it needs to be.

I don't think we should compare Monte and Lindell as PG's due to their games being different. As a pure point guard Monte has already proven to be one of the best in ISU history and debating him and Jamal Tinsley would be more appropriate. As both were primary ball handlers who looked to initiate the offense and in their senior year take over a scoring load. Tinsley obviously was able to do that, and we'll see how this season plays out for Monte.

Wigginton's style is much more of a scoring combo guard at this point IMO. Personally I think he'll be more Prohm's new Cameron Payne and be much more of a primary scorer in his system right away.

Pretty sure I remember Rahshon Clark having a 47 or 48 inch vertical? Anyone know better? He was really fun to watch in transition and he knew how to get down and dirty on defense.

Deal lord, no. He could jump like hell but not that high. That's alien territory.

Step Vertical:
Wesley Johnson 41
Mike Taylor 39.5
Rahshon Clark 37.5

Standing Vertical:
Wesley Johnson 34
Will Blalock 33.5

? Mike Taylor broke Rahshon Clark's school-record for step vertical leap with a jump of 39 1/2 inches...Clark had the previous record at 37 1/2 inches.

? Wesley Johnson broke Will Blalock's school-record for standing vertical leap at 34 inches...Blalock's record was at 33 1/2 inches...Johnson also broke ISU's record in the step vertical leap with a 41-inch jump.

while the box jump is impressive, when measuring basketball vertical (or probably even football at combines), you don't take into account how much gap you can create between you and the floor. That introduces all kinds of variable as you can pull your legs up and get "higher".

Here is a typical measure device for vertical:

No mention of Bob "frog" Fowler...RIP.

He was a decent, not elite, player from the dark days of ISU Basketball. He could leap and had the nickname to support his ability. He might be best remembered by throwing his game jersey away into the crowd in support of Lynn Nance after the coach was fired.

Ya, the second link alleges that a Cuban volleyball player can do 50 inches. I also specified that the first link was a box jump.
