Well you can't really have him without it, now, can you?

Probably not. (It was a stall tactic, anyway.) Just because of the mustache:

Kilborn > Conan > Letterman > Ferguson >>>>>> Arsenio + Dog Pound >> Leno > Dana Carvey

What about Chevy Chase?

Oh, crap. I honestly forgot he had a show. I think I saw part of a replay one time. Based off of that:

Kilborn > Conan > Letterman > Ferguson >>>>>> Arsenio + Dog Pound >> Leno > Dana Carvey > Chevy Chase

(I am guessing that new George Lopez thing will rank somewhere between Dana and Chevy.)

You're giving Lopez a LOT of credit.

Then again, that Dunham show just had the highest rating ever for a comedy central premiere.

I guess there's no accounting for taste.

For some reason, I am pretty sure that Dunham came and did his act for an assembly when I was in middle school. I remember thinking, "Puppets? Really? How old are we?" I still have that same thought.

I think Leno's show is more than just the show sucking, it's a greater indication that the network itself is horrible. I mean, outside of Chuck, Heroes, and the Thursday night lineup, what does NBC have that's even worth watching? I mean, the joke is "NBC isn't a last place network for nothing." Personally, I like my line better - all of NBC's best shows are currently being aired on USA - Monk, Psych, Burn Notice, and now you can add White Collar to that list - that show rocked on Friday...

I'm addicted to USA shows. All but Monk. I still like Monk but not addicted. Isn't the concierge Doctor show on USA as well? I enjoy that and the name escapes me.

I don't watch much network TV, but Thursday nights on NBC have some of the best comedies out there. 30 Rock has gotten the best comedy Emmy how many years now?

I do enjoy Psych very much.

Royal Pains. Yeah, I liked that very much, but it appears it's going to be an annual "seasonal offering", especially since the Hamptons, the locale of the show, is the summer getaway for New York's uber-wealthy. USA seems to be playing the show off of that fact by using it as a "summer hit".

30 rock is overrated IMO. I think it gets alot of critical praise simply because of the stars on the show.

Oh and I agree that NBC is a joke. It seems as though they always make the wrong decisons, and just have some terrible stuff on TV. They are so predictable and have no read on what the public wants.

Interesting read on how all the networks are doing.

TV on the rebound

That was a good read. Personally, I like ABC the best of the 4 networks. With Flash Forward, with V coming up, and with LOST its the network I watch the most.

I get tired of the same doctor drama, CSI/NCIS spinoffs, cop shows, etc. It seems like several of the other networks just recycle the same ideas over and over. I can only stand so many ERs, Law & Orders, and CSI type shows. I like that ABC has semi-"new" ideas like Flash Forward and V.

What does NBC do that people still want to watch? The Sunday night game is the only thing that gets in the top 10 and I'm sure they pay a ton for the rights to broadcast it.

NBC still has a huge moneymaker in the Biggest Loser but that show should be 1 hour and not 2. They drag that out worse than "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" and it makes a lot of money on aftermarket tie-ins and less on ratings as time goes by.

I couldn't even tell you what is on the network most nights. Heroes has completely lost it's audience (down something like 60% from it's highs) Chuck has never drawn a large audience, and they don't even try at 9:00 now. What is their best show besides the Thursday comedies? SNL? Dateline? I'm serious here.

If we're talking about networks making mistakes, what about Fox? They are probably the most famous for canceling popular shows like Family Guy and Firefly.

The network shows I really like: Law and Order (original), CSI (original), Without a Trace, SNF, and Law and Order Criminal Intent. The one thing I really disliked about Leno's show is that it knocked Law and Order out of Wednesday night at 9:00 PM.

I don't like serials (i.e Heroes, Lost)...I'm one of those who likes the major plot issues to get tied up during one sitting.
