Many reputable brackets have Saint Mary's (3-6 vs. quad 1) ahead of us on their seed list. Am I crazy to think this will be wrong?

I'm expecting we end up in the 8/9 game in one of the regions. Still a great accomplishment and you never know what might happen!

Happy these guys are playing through the challenges and still trying to get better. Certainly proving me wrong now (as I had written off our chances a while ago). Hope to finish strong...still 3-6 games left!
I actually think we get out of the 8/9 game. I think today we are maybe there. But I think we win our next two and give Baylor a good game. We'll be on the 6/7 line when all is said and done.

People, let's get smarter and only use top bracket makers

ESPN, USA Today, CBS are all HORRIBLE when it comes to seeding correctly in the tournament

You should have linked this. THESE are the 5 people to pay attention to.

Last year's bracket champ has us as a #6 seed?

Last years champ is rated #51, just ahead of Linardi. He has us at an 8 seed.

I try to stick with brackets in the top 10 of the rankings. As they are proven over at least 3 years to be very good.

My favorite bracket makers are

1. Heat Check CBB bracketologist Lukas Harkins
2. Indiana Delphi high school teacher Brian Tonsoni has a committee of high school students make a bracket. I think the reason they are #2 here is it's a collab versus 1 biased opinion.
3. Dave Ommen at Bracketville (one of the longest in the game)

There is a thread about it here:

I get the argument with teams who have less quad 1 wins but a higher % in quad 1 games (even then we aren't talking about a huge list of teams). Less games vs quad one and a lower win % seems insane.

Not brackets per se, but TR probability has ISU at 93.9% and Iowa at 90.4% of getting a tourney bid. They have both as #8 seeds.

The better of the bracketologists to follow updated some of their brackets today:

Bracketville has us up to a 7 seed vs San Francisco likely playing Duke second round. I don't HATE that draw but I really want off the 7/8/9/10 seed line. Just think that's where we end up.

Making the Madness has us the exact same as Brackeville...7 seed playing SF with Duke waiting.

For those interested, Lunardi moved us up to 7 seed playing Wake Forest then Purdue. But he also has Iowa a 6 (not happening) and still has North Carolina solidly in (also not happening).

Palm, conversely, has Iowa State a 7 seed playing San Diego State then Purdue, and Iowa a 10 seed. It's crazy to have two of the more prominent 'experts', despite how wrong they may be all the time, have a team this late in the season so vastly different on their seed lines. There's a minimum of three full seed lines (12 teams) difference in how they view Iowa. Lunardi also has Rutgers a 10 seed and Palm has them first four out.

Duke fairly consistently seems to screw the pooch early in the tournament. Round 2 you’re going to get good team no matter what. Knock out duke and tj will make hey on the recruiting trail with that

I agree with you but in Coach K's farewell NCAA I would rather not have anything to do with Duke for as long as possible. Would be amazing to be the team to be his last loss ever though!

If we end up as a 7.. the 2 seeds are a little tough. I wouldn't want to face Purdue or Kentucky. Duke.. maybe.

Can Wisconsin work there way up to a 2? I'm not sure. Purdue/Kentucky/Duke/Baylor seem like the 2's right now

If big 12 gets two of the 2 seeds (some projecting this), could a bracketing principle bump us off the 7 seed (good or bad), or maybe force us into the Kentucky / Purdue / Duke region?

Unless there have been revisions in that regard --> committee may bump a team up or two one seed line, if necessary, to accommodate bracketing principles. But I think that's last-resort option. In case of a 2 vs. 7, as you presented, if ISU was only Big 12 team on 7 line, it could be shifted to one of the other two quite easily (dependent, of course, if there are conflicts involving other leagues or repeated regular-season matchups in R64).

Best-case is to be a high-7 and possibly need to swap with a low-6, instead of low-7 switch to 8 (if that's your main concern).

I know people keep saying to stop bringing up Lunardi but his latest bracket had Iowa as a 6 seed. In what world??
