Interesting in that they list him as a QB...while he is, he mainly is an LB. I'm sure it was just a typo...
Can you imagine the hype and campaign if this keeps its current momentum? Albeit, he needs double digit tackles, TO recoveries, and an occasional rush for TD would be needed for sure. I think most people from what I read don't see this as a novelty.
I saw a reference to Lanning in the USA Today on Tuesday in an article about Heisman votes.
"The Iowa State defeat of Oklahoma also earned a couple of mentions for Cyclones linebacker and occasional quarterback Joel Lanning."
The chart showed Lanning getting two 3rd place votes.
