Apparently this is the new design. Honestly I like it a lot. Seems to me to be a marketing screw up to make it about the previous design instead of the fresh new design. They must be from the thought that all publicity is good publicity. I think they could have made the design change without any controversy.

Now the "O" in the middle reminds me of those dolls that always seem so surprised in the adult-themed shops I've heard people talk of.

Funny that Ames City Council approved to a name change on Squaw Creek in November and still haven't come up with an name yet for it.

Because it isn't up to them. There's a national board that handles those things. The City of Ames, Story County, Hamilton County, and any other jurisdiction that the waterway flows through can submit a recommendation/application to that board. I wouldn't expect an official name change until at least 2021.

I thought "Hawkeye State" came from the main character in Last of the Mohicans.

From what I read on google the person that wrote the last of the Mohicans that character was based on the chief of the black hawks for what I read. Either way still would love to never hear Iowa called the Hawkeye state......

If we are going to have a nickname of a M*A*S*H character maybe we should have one that is portrayed to be from Iowa. How about the Radars?

Seeing that commercial on KCCI daily talking making it a Hawkeye state of mind sadly makes me not to want to watch a great show like mash was lol. I’m still a fool that has direct tv but the “high speed internet “ we have out in the country struggles to truly depend on streaming tv content and we don’t use a antenna to watch channels like me tv anyway but still..... ugh
