Per CW's Twitter:
A sad day for local sports coverage in Central Iowa.
Ross is a big loss for the station
I hate hearing this, such a sad day. Wonder what KXNO is doing now?
That sucks, I enjoyed listening to Chris and Ross on my drive home.
Whoa......national shows all around now? Wtf
Man this sucks. Hope these guys can land on another station.
Looks like Morning Rush is gone too:
Just more of local/regional journalism taking an absolute beating.
This changes everything.
Whoa... Going away from local is a bad idea, but I guess they don't care iHeart doesn't care. This sucks big time.
So they get rid of content specific to things that listeners actually care about and replace it with nationally syndicated non-sense. I always appreciated the local shows because it wasn't the same cyclical crap that the national broadcasts put out. The same regurgitated hot takes that made the rounds from one show to another.
With my job I rarely had availability to listen during their show but feel the loss none the less as it's just another step towards streamlining the same generic bull**** that exists in all media.
Can't wait to listen to Stephen A yell on the radio, because I don't get enough Stephen A yelling on my TV.
Hope they keep Murph and Andy around. Otherwise my days of listening to KXnO are finished
I stopped listening, since ISU is struggling so much, but this is bad news.
I'd rather eat dinner with Fran McCaffrey than listen to national sports radio.
Dumb. 1700 it is on my drive home
CW hit this square on the head a month ago. He was trying to prepare for the Alabama game and couldn't find any actual sports stories about their upcoming season. All he could find were barstool type blogs.
This appears to be the sad future of local sports. Big markets will dominate everything.
The Associated Press doesn't even have a reporter in Iowa since they let Luke Meredith go.
Losing Ross sucks a lot. Even though he was a Hawkeye, he was great to listen to. Morning Rush is less disheartening. I liked Heather and Sean...
Guessing Murphy & Andy are still on. Would think that show makes at least some $$$ for the station.
I always enjoyed listening to Ross, probably the most level headed Hawk fan there is.
Downs is gone too.
