This is what we were told in an email on 10/15:
"Thank you for ordering tickets to the Iowa State vs. Kansas football game taking place on Saturday, November 9 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

The initial allotment of tickets we received from the University of Kansas for this game were located in the 300-level corner/ends and were $100 per ticket. We have just recently been informed by the University of Kansas that we are able to secure a limited number of 100-level tickets located in Sections 104-109. The cost of these tickets is $200 each.
....
The ISU Athletics Ticket Office is currently finalizing seat locations and tickets will be provided electronically around 10 business days before the game takes place. The ISU Athletics Ticket Office will send information on how to access these tickets once they are available."
This is why few get tix from the University for away games. They screw you over.

JP has complained in the past about away teams not buying tix here and our fans not buying tix for away locations. Specifically saying that is the reason he doesnt consider Farmageddon a rivalry. Because the opposing fans on either side dont buy tix. But he only looks at the tickets bought through the universities, in the away sections.

But the problem is people dont want to pay more for worse tickets, from the U for away games. I have never purchased tickets for away games through the University for donors, except for bowls. I have always gotten better seats for equal or less on the resale market or from the other University than as an away fan and donor, from the visiting U.

So to me its a terrible metric to look at as a AD on how away tickets are selling, if you only look at the tickets sold through the University as away fans. And the price thru the University should be a lot better or the seats should be better, considering those are for donors. In todays world with all the instant sales and multiple ticket sites, its no longer an issue of being easier to purchase through the away team ticket office as it was years ago, and unless something changes less and less will purchase that way.

Well not much better, also gold, section 306 row 40. Guess my wife and I will be seat surfing to lower seats next Saturday.
One year I bought our bowl tickets through ISU and got stuck with lousy seats. I swore I'd never do that again.

I feel bad because I'd love to support the University, but not when they charge me a high price for crappy seats. I'd rather get the seats on the secondary market where I know the exact seat location before paying.

The ONE time I buy tickets for non home games is bowl games because it's important. I'm willing to give up my own desire for section, row and seat to keep our image of selling tickets and traveling well...

Except "they" is the home team, not ISU.

Who chooses where the visitor sections are? The home team.
Who chooses how much to charge for those seats? The home team.

Sounds like you want JP to subsidize your purchase for tickets where he has no control over the location or price.

I didn't answer this question in my first response.

$50 (right now) is getting anyone who wants INSIDE of Arrowhead. with 30K+ unsold seats currently, all you need to do is get inside.
By 11/9 it will be under $20 to get in and there will still be 30K unsold seats.

This guy understands supply and demand
He should...have you seen his ISU parking pass prices?;)

Then you're a better person than I because I'm not gonna spend a few thousand dollars to travel across country and watch the game from a crappy seats that are assigned to me.

The last time I bought through the University was for the Cheezit bowl. I selected the club section and had pretty good seats in the club. Which was nice.

But unless there is a specific club section available, so you know you are getting a specific area, I just cant see buying through the University.

To many times the sections you get are just plain bad, for the price especially.

Not saying ISU is they. Of course the home team sets the section and the price.

So that being said why would you purchase those, when you know you are going to get screwed over.

But I doubt we give others great deals in JTS either. I mean the away sections suck and im sure they pay high for those too.

A few years ago I went to the KS game and I got in on $25 ticket deal, from KSU. I got 40 yard line tickets from KSU, for $25 each. If I remember right the through ISU they were at least double that price and were endzone seats.

Of course my purchase went in the books as KSU fans, just like the dozens of ISU fans sitting around me, but Im not paying a lot more for worse seats, just so JP can count me.

I know JP has no control over the other venues, but he cant count how many tickets people buy through ISU for away games, and gauge how much interest in the rivalry is, which is what he did for farmageddon, and said no one cares.

Have you seen secondary parking pass prices everywhere? Its not just him. Once the public lots sell out you cant get a grass spot for less than $100, anywhere. Paved spots are usually $200+.

Some true, however pretty sure ISU sets the price for sales thru ISU. Like KU says 90 bucks a ticket ISU charged 100.

SOLD

Well, for those of you who want to get your ticket situation settled and make sure that you are sitting in an Iowa State donor section, I ordered 4 tickets through the ISU donor presale, but now I'm not able to go. I'll sell them at face value. $100 per ticket.

And no, I don't know the location yet. The ISU Ticket Office keeps saying "any day," but they haven't yet released them.

No need to reply if all you are going to do is make the point again about waiting to buy tickets. I'm trying to take care of the folks who want certainty now.

SOLD

No shortage of people wanting to take advantage of my offer of the KU tickets in the donor section. Really glad I was able to put them in the hands of a good Cyclone fan.
