For K-state, I think that's a good move. Especially at this point in the coaching change season. Is Colin Klein the answer? Seems very risky
You gotta think if he works out that a guy like that will stick around a long timeFor K-state, I think that's a good move. Especially at this point in the coaching change season.
Seems like both sides had everything worked out before the announcementThis is the guy that runs Texags.com his information would be legit from the A&M side.
Some of these guys are just wired that they feel compelled to coach. Belichick did not need to the UNC job, his resume in the NFL is second to none, but he just can't stay away.I bet we see a lot of these type of guys retire a lot younger in the future. They make enough to last the rest of their lives. Don't have to deal with professional student athletes and rerecruting kids every single year.
Tom Brady couldn't stay away either. Some of these guys are just wired that they feel compelled to coach. Belichick did not need to the UNC job, his resume in the NFL is second to none, but he just can't stay away.

Saw him on the Vandy sideline last week. Couldn't believe he's still in the game.Jerry Kill comes to mind...that guy couldn't stay away even though it seems his doctors told him he had to!
And now he has been instrumental in the build up at Vandy. He moved over from New Mexico State with Pavia and has been a great advisor for Clark Lea.Jerry Kill comes to mind...that guy couldn't stay away even though it seems his doctors told him he had to!
I don't care what you think of Kleiman, but he clearly knows there are more important things in life than football and you have to respect that.
I think they said his wife has cancer and that might be the reason he is stepping away.I have always enjoyed his success (or lack of it when it came at the expense of ISU)! He seems like a genuine guy...IF he is retiring because he is burned out or wants to do something different...good for him! Hope everyone he cares about is healthy...but if it is just burnout...I would respect that decision completely!
