Kate Spade

I listened to a How I Built This podcast with her a few months ago. The risk she took with starting their business was very impressive. I’m a fan of anyone who goes all in on their ideas and themselves and succeeds.

It saddens me that this has received way more press than today being the 50th anniversary of RFK's assassination.

She enriched herself via vanity. Yes, it's unfortunate that she felt strongly enough to do herself in but she's not some visionary that deserves all this attention. She made handbags and became famously wealthy. Only an out-of-whack, fanatically, religiously consumerist country like this would blow such a thing out of proportion.
Of all the things to be saddened about...

Kate Spade is hanging in my wifes closet.

I really hope that's not the horribly off-color joke I think it is.

My first "big girl purse" indulgence was a Kate Spade. Classy, colorful, vibrant - I always had thought all of the same things of Kate. It is hard when anyone suffers and doesn't feel like they can express it (regardless of what you think of their line of work). I feel so terrible for her family.
