NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

I read on ESPN where Lamar and a couple players thought it was a TD and should not have been reversed. The system worked exactly like they hoped, the offical on the field made the call, it got kicked upstairs and was overruled because he was out of bounds. As fast as they made the call from upstairs it was an easy call to overturn, not sure why Baltimore is complaining about it.

Overall great win for the Chiefs, gives them a one game lead over Baltimore for the best record and the tie breaker, need to do the same next with over the Bengals. When the receiving core gets back to full strength, its going to be something to see. I thought the rookie left tackle played well for his first game, Worthy is going to be a stud if he can stay healthy. Defense played well, but Jackson is special as a player, any other QB would have been sacked about 6 times. It will be interesting to see how Burrow holds up against the KC pressure.

Stat sheet doesn’t show, but Chris Jones was a monster. I love how he looks at alignment and just kind of decides where he wants to go for best possible matchup.
Chiefs need Charles Omenihu to get healthy, FAU continues to be a nonfactor at DE. Linebackers other than Chenel were not great either. Defense was gassed at the end of the game, which makes sense chasing Lamar around like that.

I think if we can cut down on drops and mistakes like Patrick's INT and then get Hollywood Brown involved, we could be pretty good. Rice's issue will probably hurt us though later in the year.
Overall defense was fine but not happy how Baltimore marched down with Lamar doing the damage. Thank god don't have to see him again until possible playoffs.

CO won’t be back for awhile and I don’t expect him to be as impactful as he was last yr. Dana was just okay and I expect he’ll improve, just like the D will as well.

Not sure why the Ravens would say that was a TD when his foot clearly was touching down in the white. If that was Mahomes to Kelce I wouldn't be in denial about it as a Chiefs fan after a loss. Football is a game of inches sometimes and this was a prime example. It was a heck of a play that damn near sent the game to OT or possibly a shot to win if they went for 2.

I agree, the guy was out of bounds, and they were going for two. Harbaugh was singling two after the TD and said they would have in the press conference afterward.

Hate to say it but Mahomes and the Chiefs are in Jackson's head, he is 1-5 lifetime in the matchup, their only win was the game in Baltimore a few years back, the same weekend ISU played out in Vegas. KC was up big early and let it get away from them. Guy has all the talent in the world, but when crunch time hits, he melts, and last night's loss is not going to help that, thought he had tied it up and going for two for the win, and a minute later, its over, TD over ruled.

I know this is unpopular opinion, but I dont think Lamar is THAT good of a quarterback. Im not saying he isnt good, but looking at his stats, I dont see what all the hype is about, and honestly im surprised he won MVP last year

The guy has won MVP twice, he is a top 3 QB in the league and has preformed every season except the one when he got hurt. Best rushing QB ever when his career is over and a very good, not great passer.

Jackson, Burrow and Allen all have the same problem, they came into the league the same time as Mahomes. Each would have won a super bowl or two if Mahomes was not around winning them.

but top 3 based on what though?

Back to the game, I liked what we saw from Worthy. Going to be fun to see what he can do when they have Brown in the mix too. Taylor picked up where he left off last season with the dumb penalties. Defense doesn't worry me as Spag's defenses usually get better as the season goes on. McDuffie stepped in at the top DB and looked good last night.

The coaches, players and writers, the guy is an amazing physical player, but he has one major hurdle that he cannot overcome, Patrick Mahomes. Love Purdy and what he is doing with SF, but Jackson has nowhere near the level of talent around him on offense that Purdy does and its not really close. The guy has one WR in Flowers, looks like a couple TE, and no one knows about Henry, the guy has a lot of wear and tear on his body.

You don't win MVP twice in the league and not be a special player. 11 players have won the award at least twice, seven of them are in the HOF, Brady will be so will Rodgers and Mahomes, that is 10/11 in the HOF, Jackson will get there if he continues at this pace. He needs to win a SB to insure it, but even without one I would guess he will make the HOF at his current pace.

Ugh not sure how you go from Reid saying he's close to returning the last 2 weeks to this. Hopefully back by mid November to get some reps in the offense before the playoffs.
