Wylie was serviceable, but replaceable. They might still be working on a deal with Brown, but bidding against other teams probably means he's gone, too.

Edit - Welp, nevermind. With the Taylor signing, Brown is gone.
I'm fine with Wylie walking. Have to hope one of Niang or Kinnard can step up.

I'm okay with letting Brown walk, I guess. Don't know much about Taylor. He good? Must be if we're giving out that kind of dough.

The Chiefs have to keep modeling themselves after the Pats, if they want to continue to have success. They have locked up Mahomes, keep Kelsey for a couple more years and start looking for his replacement now. When anyone wants to cash in, let them walk or trade them, and use the draft choices to reboot and fill from the FA market, players that want a ring, and will come under a team friendly contract, even if its only for a year or two.
This year you let Brown walk, and take the money and spend it on defense and signing another receiver or two. In the draft you are looking for a safety, rush DE, DT, OT and then depth on the team.

Idk why, but my dad has asked me multiple times who I think will be the Chiefs back-up QB in 2023.

What are your thoughts?

My guess is Shane Buechele.
I think they go after a cheap veteran option with prior starting expirience. Who exactly that is I'm not sure but I don't see them settling for him as QB2 without at least exploring more expirienced options. The roster is built to win now and that is a lot of risk to go with a guy who hasn't taken a single snap in an NFL game yet.

Heard a stat tonight on my drive home listening to the NFL channel, only 10 of the 32 starting QB's in the league started every game last year. So that means you have to have someone that can come in to finish the game or even start the next one if Mahomes goes down. The Chiefs seem to like Buechele, so maybe they are comfortable enough with him as the backup, but I have to think they will sign someone for a couple of million that wants to be a back up and get a super bowl ring.

Some character issues, hopefully that’s not an issue. Doesn’t seem to bother the chiefs. Definitely need some more D.
