NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

Sneed's been great, but I'm surprised analytics could rate any player higher than Jones. Not only was he wildly disruptive and product, he did so facing the largest amount of double/triple teams. Something DBs never have to contend with.

The way Jones completely destroyed Cincinnati was a sight to behold. Might literally be the most dominant defensive performance I've seen in football. I've seen guys fly around the field and make tackles, or ends win consistently on the edge for a speed rush. But for a DT to blow his guy 5 + yards back on 50% + of the snaps, while still routinely being double teamed is miraculous. Backups or not.

I think Jones will get through (not as much as Cinci) but it will be interesting to see if he's able to get to Hurts. I can see him being slippery and causing all kinds of issues breaking contain and picking up big runs.
It's just one site's grading, but Sneed has had a sneaky good year. 2nd on the team in tackles. 3.5 sacks, 5 tackles for loss, 3 ints, 11 passes defensed, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery. His impact is felt all over the field. Jones is no doubt the upfront wrecker, but Sneed is a Swiss Army CB that we certainly would rather have out there than not.

especially with philly's run game.

6 against the Raiders in '98. I knew he came close. I remember that was a night game.
I was too young for the Seattle game I assumed you meant the Raider game. That was a Sunday night game and crowd was so loud he was timing their snaps perfectly. Crazy he had 6 sacks and that wasn't his game high

Sneed has been good. The Chiefs have really hit some home runs with the recent secondary draft picks. Went from a weaker unit to a strong one in a hurry. With Jones wreaking havoc that's a great combination.

Reid today, talking about Toney:

Speaking publicly on Thursday morning — the final time he’ll face reporters before the game — head coach Andy Reid sounded fairly optimistic about the possibility the receiver plays.

“He did everything [Wednesday] that was planned for him to do, but he’s got more [Thursday] and we’ll see. We’ll see how he does. But he was spirited [Wednesday] and running around like crazy, so we’ll see how it works out [Thursday].”
