NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

I was at the game. Mahomes was flushed repeatedly & found receivers at the last moment. All on his own. Buffalo was the better team. Mahomes & Reed remind me of Brady & Belichek. Once Brady left, Belichek became just another good NFL coach instead of a genius especially with how Brady transformed Tampa Bay. I suspect wherever Mahomes went he would do the same thing & Andy would be another good but not great coach.
313-150 + 184-92 + 129-58 + 38:15-21:45 = 10-7

I don't think any QB improvises on broken plays as well as PM.

KC had several miscues today and STILL destroyed a solid team on the road.

HUGE losses by both Denver and Chargers...specifically LA.

If he doesn't walk the line release him. Problem solved. He's better than any receiver we have and can still be a playmaker at times. I say give him a call.
I get the excitment of bringing in OBJ, but yesterday we saw what this recieving room was brought in to do. Two recievers over 100 yards. First time Mahomes has ever done that. Seems like they are starting to trust each other and trending up. Spend the money on Defense.

Yeah, this. Wasn't SF like the number 2 defense in the league? And the Chiefs moved the ball up and down the field without much issue. But I still hold my breath any time the D is on the field. I would definitely focus on firming that up first. I'm not worried about putting up enough points.

I think the Chiefs need to find a good veteran CB. The rookies have had some good moments but I think they could use a good bet back there as the rookies do get picked on at times. Especially by good QBs.

Still hoping we sign OBJ.
I feel like Mahomes and his receivers have figured out their timing.

Early in the season, passes seemed a bit off. with timing. Specifically MVS and Juju. Yesterday seemed the most in-sync the passing game has been all season.

And just as I made that comment, the stat came across the bottom that they have more downfield (30+ yrds?) this year than last, and rank much higher.

Who'da thought? I just recall a handful of downfield bombs a yard or two out of his receivers reach in the first few weeks.

Before yesterday, Chiefs had the best PPG average in the entire league. Putting up points is never the issue, agreed.

I wouldn’t mind more CB help, but if we only have enough money to go after one position - I’d focus first on DE, a pass rusher. Clark is not producing much and Karlaftis hasn’t stepped forward yet either. That’s where I would make a move, if possible.

I think once we get Fenton and McDuffie back the CB position will be ok to even a strength. We need DE help worse than anything. My next want is a OT, but probably not going to get much in the trade market and will need to wait until free agency.

Actually feel like Clark having one of his better seasons... he's looked really good at times just struggles with consistency. Dunlap has had his moments as well. But yes if can add one more guy to go in rotation there you go for it.

This is disrespectful to Reid (edit: and Belichek actually). He's gotten 100+ wins twice, with different franchises and guys at the helm, and KC was no slouch before Mahomes got there. Pat's talents just took it to another level.

Too much of the Defense seems built on emotion. Jones/Clark getting a sack early in a game would be just about the best thing to happen for them. Seems like once they get the taste they start operating at another level after that.

I'd almost want Brandin Cooks from Houston over OBJ but asking price could be too much. With restructuring Kelces contract recent makes you think they plan to add someone either through trade or signing by clearing money already
