NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

I think the Chiefs are sitting at a nice spot at #9 really. Could go a number of different ways or even trade down a few spots possibly if a guy they wanted is no there. No harm in picking up an extra pick or 2 and moving down to get a guy you still want that would be available. I could see the Chiefs going DB, Edge, or WR at 9 depending on who is there. Heard a take this morning about do the Chiefs really want to invest another 1st rounder on a WR given how their WR picks in the 1st and 2nd rounds in recent years have not really panned out other than Rice and even he has had issues. Worthy hasn't exactly lived up to his hype either. Same show mentioned Tyreek Hill is still a free agent and could take a chance on him with a cheap deal and use the pick on another need.

Another possibility if they traded down a few spots is go TE to get your Kelce replacement with Sadiq. He could go somewhere in the 10-20 pick range depending on how things play out and if there is some team out there that really wants to trade up to get him in that range too.
Tyson or Tate don't seem like a sure thing to me to take them at number 9. Tysons injuries are too much for me. We can't afford to draft another guy high and then they play 2-8 games a year on their rookie deals. I'd rather take a position of less need say Downs at 9 if the rushers aren't available then making a high risk pick. Simply put you gotta get a good quality starter at 9. Rest of draft you can gamble more with high upside guys

if Downs is there at 9, you take him IMO. Unless Bain is sitting there as well. If all off the board, could go Delane from LSU

Like Delane, not really sure about the trade needed to do it…
Only thing I can think of is he was their top target and they caught wind that either someone ahead of them was going to take him or trade their pick to someone that wanted to. Would love to be a fly on the wall in the war room on draft day to know how these things go down.

Just hate the pick, granted we trade McDuffy and lost Watson, but CB is where they find lower level picks. If you are going to trade up, take one of the WRs or Bain. That pick at 29 better be in a need position.

Somehow, I feel that is going to be the spot where the Jets or Cards trade back into the first round to take Simpson if Pitt doesn't pull the trigger.

Very well could be, the Athletic has Delane as their 6th highest rated player, but still not sure what they were thinking trading up. Bain's short arms must have everyone spooked about him.

ESPN gives the trade a D+, there was a 90% chance the guy was going to be there at nine, so they gave up two picks to move up 3 spots when we need talent. Cleveland was given a A- for the trade, slide back three picks and still got the player they wanted, picking up extra picks.

I don't like the pick partly because of the trading of 2 pickd with it but sometimes fans are dead wrong on their criticism too. We all remember Donovan McNab being boo'd. We'll just have to see how this ages. Last couple years have been mostly bad picks albeit much tougher draft order. Can't afford a bad one with 3 top 40 picks.

Gotta be going defense again at 29 right? probably going to be some DT and edge possibilities still on the board there.
Hell who knows, maybe Boston out of Washington fix the WR room, the DT draft is fairly deep, they can get a good one there at 40. Looks like all the better edges are off the board, so now you are looking at the 2nd group of players. Maybe the rush end from Missouri. Heck maybe Miller OT from Clemson.

Miller went a while ago.

Peter Woods, still no rush end or WR. We have Lott returning so sounds like Woods and Lott will be fighting it out for that starting spot.
I would have rather taken Cooper and help the WR room, we could have gotten help on the D line at 40.
