NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

What do you see in our running game that everyone else does not. It's not that they cannot get 5 or 6 yards on one play, but the next they get nothing. Another game when none of them breaks off a long run, its why we should have traded for Hall, but since that has passed we need to pick up a back near year that can be a difference maker, either in the draft or in FA.
Stats show they can run the ball. This team doesn't even need to run well they just need the defense to think there is a chance they'll run. Why do you think Andy is gonna start running the ball just because we got Breece Hall ffs? Andy isn't going to run the ******* ball dude. The sooner you get that out of your head the sooner you'll realize that his playcalling is the problem. They were averaging 5ypc today and then decided they didn't want to do it anymore. It doesn't matter who's in the backfield. He wouldn't run the ******* ball if he had Travis Henry. Nobody else who watches this team realizes this?

Really should have given that 3rd round for Breece if the rumors were true.

It is ironic that this team is better than last year's Super Bowl squad, but performing poorly. Still many games to go. No one will want to play the Chiefs as a WC.

For what? So he could pass block? They were averaging 5ypc today and decided to quit running the ball. I'm not sure how any running back is helping them if they don't call run plays.

Ask yourself one question, if you had Mahomes as your QB, are you going to be running the ball more than throwing it? Reid has won how many super bowls? Guy is a HOF coach, he knows what he is doing. The run they have had winning the division 9 years in a row and going to the amount of super bowls tells everyone that he knows what he is doing. But you think we should run the ball more, with this collection of running backs. Maybe you should invest your fandom in another team.

They should 100% be running more. 62 plays and only 14 runs when you're averaging 4.5 ypc on the season?

He's not immune to criticism. I'm gonna run the ball on 3rd and 1 when I'm averaging 5 ypc and I don't care who the QB is. And if I do pass it I'm probably running some sort of PA pass to give the D something to think about. This team needs to not be so predictable. Youre ******* dreaming if you think this is a personel problem. Its playcalling

Hell yes they should. And running more PA passes. They are so ******* predictable it isn't even funny. The RB's do fine when we mix it up. JFC Hunt was averaging 5ypc today. Its not his fault we threw the ball on 2nd and 3rd and short all day. I'm not sure how any running back is helping much if you don't run the ball

Hunt was 13-59yds today.4.5. The team ran it 14 times total. That's not on the RB'. I'm so sick of people pretending like the RB room is trash because the stats say otherwise.

(a) They were not averaging 5 ypc. Made up stat by you.

(b) Hunt is doing great, but no breakout ability, Breece has that in spades over either Hunt or Pacheco.

(c) I was fine with Chiefs explanation that Breece was too costly, but that is when no one knew how much the Chiefs were lying about Pacheco. If the front office and medical staff were communicating, Breece would have been an easy call. Instead, no Pacheco, and we trotted out a rookie that could not even line up properly. JFC

Hunt averaged 4.5. that's not bad. Maybe they should run it more than 14 times. I find it laughable that people think getting a RB they won't use any more than the ones they have now)who are playing fine) would make a difference. If Kareem Hunt went to ISU you'd understand what I'm saying. Trust me

The stats don't back up what you are saying, not sure if this weekends games are figured in but the Chiefs have rushed the ball 260 times this season, we have 3 runs over 20 yards and zero over 40. They are averaging 4.4 per rush, not horrible but not great either. To me it looks like we have a group of average backs, with none of them being able to make a long run. Our number of attempted runs is not out of the usual either.

This isn't a talent issue.

I was speaking directly about today. Today was a horrible balance.

The stats don't back that up, longest run of the year 35 yards, only 6 teams have less than that. Only 6 teams have the same or less runs under 20 yards. Plus we have one of the best QBs in the league, our rushing attempts on first down is the 2nd highest league.

Denver only had 7 more runs today than we did, and the total number of plays was 61 to 62. We were also behind most of the game, and on the road.
Denver is down their starting RB and ran it nearly 35% of the time. They have been running it 42% of the time this season.

Chiefs are running it 40% of the time this season, and only ran 22% today. The last time the Chiefs ran the ball today was with 12:11 left in the game. They never ran the ball when they got the lead.

In the end we are a 5-5 team, I really do not think running the ball more would have changed that record at all with this group of running backs.

On the 2nd to last drive when we had the ball and lead, we also had a false start on Gray to start the drive, so instead of 1st and 10, it was 1st and 15. We got it to 3rd and 2 and the pass was incomplete, should we have run it there, maybe, but we might have also got no gain.

The statistics show this team runs the ball fine. Why don't you understand that Reid just doesn't want to run the ball? This isn't hard dude. They are fine at running back. You're ******* insane if you don't think only running the ball 14 times today hurt this team. I'll take 4.5 ypc any day of the week. Keep telling yourself that if we would have got Breece Hall all of a sudden Andy would run it 40 times. Not happening. This is what this team does and it doesn't matter who's in the backfield. You keep acting like Hunt got bottled up all day. The backs have played pretty well all year.
