NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

They don't have Rice and Worthy got hurt. Its not like they don't have talent on the roster.
It’s been over 2 years since the offense has been great. We used to be to able to scheme open people but it’s bad now. No explosiveness in the backfield too. And with how bad the defense is, gonna need to score 28+ to win a lot of games

I wonder how much say individual teams have in the games like this. I get ownership trying to strike while the iron is hot and expand the fan base as much as possible with the current run. The Chiefs were basically nobodies in the NFL before this era. This is starting to feel like they are putting that ahead of winning. They also better get that new stadium agreed to and built before Mahomes retires.

I've been a long time Chiefs fan and I would disagree with "The Chiefs were basically nobodies in the NFL before this era." They've had some good stretches over the years with some playoffs runs but obviously not the caliber of team they have had with Mahomes. Schottenheimer had them winning the AFC West or finishing 2nd regularly in the 90's. Had a 13-3 season in 2003 with Vermeil but we had some lean years under Cunningham, Edwards, Haley, and Crennel.

As for Arrowhead I really don't get why they need a new stadium. I get that it's one of the 3 oldest in the NFL but there is so much history and gameday atmosphere there that you will not be able to replicate with a new stadium IMO. I'm a Cubs fan too and I could not imagine the Cubs playing anywhere than Wrigley field. Your average fans don't care about luxury suites and fancy amenities, they just want a fun and affordable atmosphere to cheer on their favorite team. I hope they find some kind of renovation plan the Missouri voters will get onboard with. It really all boils down to the Hunt family being willing to foot more of the bill IMO. Moving the team to Kansas would be a big mistake, I know I would resent the Hunt family if they uprooted the team over a stadium. I know some of the reason behind the stadium talk is the current location lacks things around it but I wonder if there is any possibility of a revitalization project in the surround area much like the Ricketts kind of did with the Wrigleyville area where they redeveloped and made it more of an entertainment district. I love the vibe at Kauffman too and hope it goes nowhere either but have also heard takes that if they can relocate the Royals they could use the area Kauffman is at to add things to keep the Chiefs at Arrowhead too.

It's early, but this defense hasn't given me any reason to think that they are going to be able to stop any of the legit offenses in the league.

And Butker should have focused on kicking instead of trying to be someone in the world of politics, he obviously doesn't look like he has in the past.

I think the problem with the D is more schematic than anything. I trust Spags will get something figured out sooner or later. We need help at LB for sure but I'm way more concerned about our talent level at both OT spots.
