I saw that on the Athletic website yesterday, sounds like a good signing, and let's face it, the back up last year did not look sharp in the Denver game.
What else is there to showcase from '24 that KC's own The Franchise doesn't already show. I guess the history stuff might be nice for the newer fans.
Thoughts on the draft? Simmons addresses one of the biggest needs which is OL. Probably played it safe with the next 3 picks going for depth pieces on the DL and CB. Didn't draft a TE but not sure where they were picking from if there was anyone worth the pick to take as a potential replacement for Kelce one day. The Chiefs pretty much have to target players at premium positions in the draft that they otherwise would have to pay more for in free agency and feels like they did just that this year. May not produce a lot of star power out of this bunch but the Chiefs have done pretty well in the draft in recent years especially finding some diamonds in the rough in the later rounds.
I'm not sure I like the DT pick from Tennessee but overall I thought it was a really good draft. They seemed to really get some good value picks at LB, WR, and DB. If the OT from OSU is all healed up, could be a really good draft class.
I thought they had a good draft, loved getting Simmons in the 1st round and moving back to get an extra pick was smart. Not sure about the DT out of Tennessee, was a reach, but I am sure the guys we also wanted were selected a few picks before, the guy that went to Baltimore and a CB. Hopefully the DT turns into a productive player, the Athletic called it boon or bust type of pick, he showed flashes but then disappears on other plays. Like the WR we picked up and the LB, overall I would give them a B to B+, if Simmons can come in and fix the tackle position, and the others provide depth and special teams then picking from #31, it was a good draft.
Yeah flipping one spot with Philadelphia and getting an extra pick was great. Why did Philadelphia do that? They also traded up in the 7th round and gave up 2 lower seventh rounders including Mr. Irrelevant.

Philly did that because if they hadn’t, someone else was likely trying to trade up for the LB they wanted.
I love this draft. Getting a potential long term starter at OT picking from #31 is a best case outcome. If he pans out, the draft will be a success if we can get anything at all from the later picks.

I read where the Eagles called about the Chiefs switching picks, and KC asked if they were picking an offense or defensive player, when they said Defense, KC quickly took the deal. Smart move to slide back one spot and pick up an extra pick and still get the player KC wanted. Many in the KC front office hoped Simmons would be there, but most thought there was no way he would be, had to be nervous time those last 5 to 10 picks before KC got their pick in.
Who knows if it had any impact, but I am surprised the Chiefs did this. Thought Reid was too smart to invite unnecessary distractions into the team.

I remember skipping the second half of the Tampa SB when it was live. Finally watched the highlights late last year. My god. If KC's receivers could have just caught all those passes that hit them directly in their hands, that's a totally different game.
Maybe, but they already do a lot of video and interviews for their own stuff that they put on youtube. It's pretty common for a lot of teams to do this. Not sure how much extra this added to that.
