In my first hand observations, I've seen those video boards running at 2 am and the lights on throughout the facility. Haha. Nobody can reasonably be there. They seem to be on all the time. It's wasteful and a shame. I hope some on here will think for a minute how we just keep adding demand to the electrical system, pumping out pollution, and come to the conclusion that if we care about breathing clean air, keeping stable climate systems, etc., turning off these lights is one little action (couple with millions and billions of other little actions) we should be taking to protect this planet we're going to inhabit in 20 years, 50 years, 100 years.

I love driving by at night but the guy does have a point. I’m on the fence on this one.

When we have recruits visit the stadium 40 weekends out of the year- should we look to have The Jack look as sleepy and dull as possible? Just asking.

The bridge and stadium are big time conference wise and are a huge selling point.

I took my family to the Reiman Gardens holiday lights deal last week and thought that the stadium and bridge looked super cool in the foggy night. Is it bright? It is, but it's not smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood either. Also, I didn't see any dead birds laying around.

As someone who lives in a semi-rural area, I can appreciate the desire for fewer outside lights. It really is better without needless lights everywhere. That said, toning down arguably the universities biggest advertising feature is beyond stupid.

If people complain about this, then at 3 AM 'Smoke on the water' starts playing on a loop until 6.

I think the use of LED's has really driven down usage costs. I'd actually be curious to know how much it costs for them to power the lights in a single night.

Cheap bright LED lights are contributing to light pollution. There are a couple houses on our block that leave their super bright outdoor lights on throughout the night.

There is a ribbon board on the outside of the stadium at the north end and it was on when I drove past at 9am yesterday.

People do understand that the AD is going to leave lights on in facilities for the same reason as every other business, for theft and vandalism issues. You probably will never see a facility completely dark.
