Looks like they are starting some dirt work being done on the east side of University this morning for the Pedestrian Bridge.

I'm not an engineer. But I would think they want to pour concrete for the supports, before our ground starts to freeze. So that they can work on this over the winter and into early spring. Am I wrong? Any engineers on here?

Looks like the "black gravel/dirt" around the plaza grass (and hillsides) was replaced. Looks like concrete, but I'm not sure if that is correct. Either way, it looks nice! Obviously they waited to change it after the 1st 2 home games.

Can confirm, not concrete. It's just a lighter gray color of gravel, with less dirt material than the darker crushed gravel underlayment that was exposed before

Can't really figure out the reasoning for this design choice as either option makes quite the mess after thousands of fans have tromped through it. (Other than maybe being a cheaper option than sod, as a "temporary" measure???)

There is a cement pad poured right east of the roadway and maybe smaller pad further east. Hard to tell driving by.
