Technically, yes. But I can guarantee if someone is putting their name on it, we’ve not seen the final product yet. What they’ve built so far is a pretty bland area that wouldn’t require much of a donation.

The Jacobson Plaza on the east side of the stadium is essentially just a large concrete pad. But it's still called a plaza, and has a donor's name attached.

A giant Trice stripes monument would be a relatively inexpensive, but profound, addition to the plaza area. Just feel like we're missing an opportunity here.
It’s been mentioned a number of times that the current plaza is just a baseline, and they’re holding off on making plans on the final iteration at the moment. The money is there and waiting.

Disagree. That plaza had college game day. There’s a little more to it than just a concrete pad.

Well, us old timers who've suffered through decades of Cyclone misery don't have years and years to wait. We need the Trice stripes monument now!

I think you are talking about the plaza outside the south end zone as that is where Game Day was. The east Jacobson plaza is basically on the east concourse right when you get to the top of the stairs I believe.

Could they put something on top of the press box? Something to cast a shadow on the field in the afternoons during most games.

Or paint the stripes in place of the big 12 logos on the field. Or put the stripes in the endzones. Have a game where the midfield logo is the stripes. Or replace the istate logos on the marquee with the stripes.

Well done. This is a pretty freaking badvss idea!

Or... a spotlight like a Bat Signal with the Trice Stripes!

I like the way you're thinking! I see where the small stripes logo has been added to our jerseys, and this year the logo will be added to the front of our helmets. But the message behind the stripes is so powerful that I'd love to see them in a very large display.

I recall a previous post about waiting until after the season to complete the aesthetics for the plaza to understand the flow on game days and how best to implement a sculpture and/or any other features for the plaza. Will likely be pretty generic this season.

I’m going to go WAY out on a limb here.

The game Jack Trice was injured in was on October 6, 1923, and he died two days later, on October 8th.

So as impatient as some of you are, I’m going to say that the perfect time to unveil a Trice Stripes sculpture would be for the 2023 season, not now or ‘22.

With Homecoming then being the game on Saturday October 7th.

Jamie? Make it so.

Don't you feel like that is kind of a BS answer from ISU? I mean, there are people that study that kind of thing. Hell, they probably teach it at ISU in a landscape architecture type class. Those people could tell you in a second what the pedestrian flow would look like. Not that I'm complaining...I'm happy with what they got done. It just seems like kind of a strange excuse. Then again, it took them like 4 years to complete the Reiman Plaza after the SEZ was finished, so who knows?

Anyone on here going to try and set their tent up in the plaza grass? It's going to happen eventually right?

I expect that the engineering department has some computer model that could simulate this with very little effort. We even had some archaic version back when I was there in the late 1980s.

Nice to see some resurfacing activity happening in the lots when they move the camera around a bit (I assume that's what is happening out there)

Anyone know what exact lots are being done? Looks like C6 is being done?
