JTS Improvements - Want More

Yeah, they've got that cranked up to earsplitting levels, and beyond what the speakers are capable of without distortion. I'm not normally someone who complains at it being loud, but they've got it turned up way past too much.

Surprised they had issues with this. I would have thought they would have tested it out in the off season when the system was installed and tuned along with using decibel readers throughout the stadium to confirm levels too.

I guarantee they'll email back the people who complain and say, "well these are the levels its always been..."

The problem is no one with ears can deny the sound quality is atrocious.

I'm pretty sure this was a problem over the past couple years as well. If I remember correctly, there's been a few instances where the consensus was that they got it right. No clue how it's such a tough problem to solve.

I don’t mind the loud. I think it makes sense too when the other team has the ball. But it was cracking and distorted like it was going to blow out the speakers at times and that’s an unforced error it seems. And there was some weird pausing during the intro (which the new or upgraded video intro is fire btw).

The good: New Video boards are gorgeous, and I wasn't sure about using Thunderstruck but using footage of AC/DC with Angus Young shredding was awesome.

The bad: Some of the editing of the music was a little weird and it cut out right at the big moment in the song.

The ugly: The sound quality was so bad. They have got to get the levels right on that intro song. It was embarrassing how distorted it was. Sounded like absolute ****. Don't we have paid professionals to do this stuff?

North video board content thoughts:
We sit in the SEZ, so have an unencumbered view of the whole thing. Overall, well done. Graphic/video quality is clear with great resolution. Good choice of font(s) and colors (mostly.)

Where I either would like changes or simply don't care for:
1. Lower left section with stats based on what's happening at the time. Using three names each with a stat line below means the font is too small and I honestly can't read it. Keep to two lines and increase font size. Easier and quicker to read so it can be changed more often. See item 3 for an additional location to show similar stats.*
2. The "sliding" scale or percentage or ratio of stats with one color for ISU and the other for the opponent doesn't matter to me, thus taking up valuable board space. Not sure how to better describe it and didn't take a photo. It also has the number/quantity/etc. for both teams, and that's all I need to see.
3. *Lower right section with teams and score from another game. Again, that's valuable real estate on the big board, and in my opinion should be used for our game stats and info. Removing this content allows more space for stats. See item 1. All other games belong on the ribbon boards as they have been.

Will I live if none of these changes happen? Absolutely.

Where I was at, seemed to have way too much bass. Does the sound really have to be that loud?
I thought the sound was more tuned than last year, might be sitting in the SEZ and being the furthest from the speakers. Did see some pictures from a friend who's 9 year old had headphones on sitting in the lower level on the northeast side.

Does Iowa State have a few DBag fans, sure. But the percentage of them is much lower is the point.

Suckeyes fanbase: 90% Dbags. Are there a few decent ones, yes, but they are far outnumbered by the jackasses.

Cyclones fanbase: 10% Dbags. Are there a few bad ones, yes, but they are far outnumbered by the decent ones.

It is awesome they do a great thing and wave at the sick kids. It is not great, that they pat themselves on the back so much for it. Sometimes you should do something great just to be great and a good person, not doing it for the recognition and praise. The extreme amount of virtue signaling is the issue as many of us have said, we love that they do it for the kids, but its douchey to do it for the praise and self righteousness.
That's a little generous. Every fanbase has much more than a 10% douchebag rate.
