I think these two things may be related. I noticed A wet patch in that area of concrete this morning before they started breaking it up. And they have been working on the hillside off and on this afternoon. A possible water leak in the irrigation water supply?

Edit: I wonder if this will delay the laying of sod, and if so, for how long? :(

If they think they can avoid damage to the sod and sprinkler system, then today's juveniles are nothing like the rest of you delinquents when you were young!

I was more noticing that broken patch is right between where the visitors are going to come out of the tunnel mouth, and the field.
I'm confident these future student athletes will walk around the hole. However, if for some reason they all do fall into the hole, we probably wouldn't want them anyways. All will be good.

Well, it was more that it was 2:30 in the morning, and I fuzzily figured I was being the straight man for one of those clever younger folk around here to post a gif of a car GPS saying, “Rerouting, rerouting…”

If you scroll the camera back to 10:13am to about 10:14:30 you'll see some closeups as the camera kind of focuses in on some things. But have your seasickness pills handy.

I grabbed a number of screenshots. I figured didn’t need any of the roofs of the concession stands, though.

Here are a couple of cropped snips. A. Looks like they’re about ready to pour. B. There’s your hillside.

Heck. After seeing that locker room, the adrenaline production almost cause me to have a heart attack. Talk about in your face color. Can't say I like that much RED.
Cardinal, black, and......no gold that I can see. Even the "Welcome to Cyclone Football" sign in the student section area appears to have black lettering. I love the look, but I do miss our traditional colors just a bit.

This I-STATE sign has been sitting here for several weeks. There had been another sign (possibly Jack Trice) sitting next to it.

Any ideas where it will end up? Or are they leaving it here permanently, sitting against the wall?

Looks about the same width as the opening to the hills right behind it. Though it is 'higher' it still may be a door for that location. Having a higher door will prevent people from blocking it. So, that's my first guess, albeit a stretch. ;)

That's a thought. But it would block the view of people sitting on the hillside in that area.
Also, I think it would look out of place there, but maybe that's just me..
