Josh Cunningham

Cunningham needs to come to ISU - he'd fit our team perfectly and could spend a couple years developing under this staff and guys like McKay and Niang to really push his growth.

Can you imagine:

Niang
Hogue
Thomas
Morris
McKay
Nader
Long
Cunningham

That's a solid 8-man rotation there...even without Vaughn. I'd love it if Josh would commit in the next month or so...what has he got to lose?

With so many quality players on the team, and Fred adapting to players' strengths, it would be interesting to see if he starts pressing more. That would speed up the pace and make sure more players are getting to play. I can see players such as McKay and Cunningham, with their long arms, playing the middle of the press. The downside could be lack of continuity with players going in and out of the game, never establishing any rhythm. But, if anyone can manage that, it's Fred.

Nice problem to have.

Welp, appears ISU has been replaced by Indiana and SC for Josh.

RT @D1Circuit Morgan Park F Josh Cunningham (@JoshMCunningham) is down to Oklahoma, Creighton, Indiana, South Carolina, DePaul & Bradley.

Not too surprising. Seems like you didn't hear much about him lately, at least in relation to Iowa State, so I figured we'd kind of laid off in favor of putting all our eggs in the Vaughn basket.

It was reported a while back that we were not persuing Cunningham anymore and we were "going all in" on Vaughn. This shouldn't be all that surprising. I think landing McKay changed Fred's plan and since Cunningham would classify as a Nader type player. And with Nader and Hogue playing the same position already for the most part, we don't necessarily need him. Especially with the SG position that has been our most sketchy position.
