JJeff Injury Updates

Sure buddy, you’re actually an idiot if you watched Jefferson writhing in pain and couldn’t put a touch of pressure on the ankle and thinking he will play again anytime soon

You are a moron and have clearly never played basketball at even a semi competitive level. I gaurantee you every single guy on that team has sprained their ankle more times than they can remember. It is clear this a bad sprain though. Jefferson said as much "it's bad" to TJ on the court. This dude is 21-22 years old and a professional athlete. Will he be 100% in a week? No. I'd be really surprised if he isnt able to play in some capacity a week from today though.

Whatever the hell happened to his ankle isn't healing in a few days.

Who is saying that? The poster I am responding to is claiming he's done at Iowa State. Which although could be a scenario, we don't know that. Hell, Jefferson himself using "taking it day-by-day" language.

You’re right I never played D1 my basketball playing days didn’t expand past high school. Jefferson also has a pro career ahead of him and risking that would be a little foolish even though he clearly loves Iowa State. It’s a tough ankle sprain, I hope he plays Sunday but I’m highly pessimistic on it. Next man up

Fair enough but what else is he going to say? I have a hard time believing he's coming back from a bad sprain in the next few weeks. He out until at least a possible Final Four game

Yeah dude you called me an idiot first for voicing an opinion. I mean my entire background and training is also in sports med.

Where exactly did I call you an idiot? I'd like to know. Background or not...

Dropping. True info will get leaked out.
I think it's baked in. Might adjust by a point
Without injury it's an 8 to 8.5 spread,maybe even 9

Update, texted buddy who works in the sports book says opening line is based on Jefferson not playing.

Now certainly sharps can put a lot on Kentucky to move it

And Vegas isn't always right. :-)

Yeah obviously coaches aren’t gonna say anything until tip on Sunday id be very shocked if he played. I’ve worked in sports med and orthopedics the last 10 years, he’s a D1 athlete he will recover quicker than your usual person but it’s a tall ask to be ready in 48 hours
Nobody is balking at him not playing Sunday, it’s when you said he is done for over a month.

Senior year in HS I elevated for a rebound and came down on a foot rolled my ankle horribly. Literally thought I snapped my leg. Was able to play the following weekend with a brace.

His explosiveness will be limited. I'd be surprised if he doesn't go 7 days from now.

Beat Kentucky!

If you phrased your first post this way you would have likely had no negative feedback.
