I can't believe how good at blocking he is. There's a reason he is in for third downs to pass block.

Anyone have any footage of the block referenced below? It was a huge block that kept us from going 3 and out right away but I want to see it again

Unsung play of the game if you ask me. It got the game started in the right direction.

He’s being doing this the last couple games. He smoked a couple blitzing LBs in the Baylor game. He deserves the love. You know Campbell sees this and makes it known to the locker room.

Kene's block on Soehner's catch jumped out to me. In the grand scheme of things it had no bearing on the outcome of the game, but that stuff matters. A vast majority of RBs trailing a play like that would probably jog along behind the play. When you have a backup RB hauling ass from behind a play to make a block, and you have WRs that block in the run game like Hutchinson, you've got the right culture. Those are things that fans don't often notice or appreciate, but are huge to the players and are contagious.

I saw this during the game and thought it was Breece at first. Really encouraged by what we're seeing with Jirehl Brock though. Glad he is starting to get some more opportunities, he definitely has a bright future. He was fantastic on some of those dump down passes in the game too.

Thanks for pointing out. Sometimes it can be easy to miss these great plays during the game.

Jirehl playing more and playing well is a small glimpse into the entirety of our team.. young talent that is stepping up at a time of the year where they are truly needed.

He basically had two choices. Sit on the bench upset that breece is getting the carries or show what he can do better than breece and get on the field. While blocking he has now had the opportunity to get some passes thrown his way as a reward and it also keeps breece fresher.

Exactly. I'm really excited for him to keep playing because he's very talented and would've gotten a ton more playing time had he not been behind the best RB in the nation. The more he plays, the more he'll get more comfortable and will be able to showcase his skillset.

It didn’t end up mattering but he got the ball in a couple 3 down situations. That tells you the offense and Purdy trusts him.
