I remember we pretty much thought he was a silent commit at the time. Then all of the sudden he was going to Marquette. Never knew why he bailed. Pretty sure we got Marquis Gillstrap when Butler bailed on us. I could be wrong on my timeline.

Butler's first season at Marquette was 08-09. Gilstrap's first season at Iowa State was 09-10.

The freshman closest resembling Butler in 08-09 was Clint Mann. Yikes.
