Jets Talk Heating Up Again...

On one hand I think CMC truly enjoys the building process and making something out of nothing with athletes that may be overlooked by other programs. On the other hand, if the NFL keeps knocking over and over again, that will get in your head and you’re gonna want to take it to the highest level.

As much as I despise the TOE, it might be a good thing that CMC can see the commitment Iowans can have to a single coach.

Love all the discussion about driving distance to Ohio and the Georgia Savannah! I'm sure those will be crucial factors in his decision.

I hope I'm wrong, but if we happen to win the Big 12 this year, I think the chances of him being gone are decent. All depends on how other dominos fall. Michigan worries me more than any other program college or pro.

I agree; Harbaugh will probably be out at Michigan and I could certainly see a scenario where UM makes a call to Jamie. But, have the times changed to where Mich doesn't look as appealing vs what we have going at Iowa State?

We should do everything in our power to make Ames his hometown so anywhere else is further away; remember, a happy wife is a happy life.

Or, as a speaker in South Africa said to the women after saying the knife comment above, "...and women, remember your husband wants a wife and not a knife!"

I clown on Mtown a fair amount and I knew what he meant. No need to clarify.

Not worried about Michigan. It’s the “Texas” of the B1G. Donors will demand another splash hire.
I'll give people a couple of outside the box ideas for the next Michigan hire:

1). Brent Venables - been the longtime D Coordinator at Clemson. If there's a time to jump ship for a bigger time coaching job now would be it for the longtime top D Coordinator nationally (I think Heacock is as good as this guy by the way if we are factoring in maximizing talent, easier to look good when your two deep are Hs all americans everywhere). Venables is a younger guy who would probably bring coaching, recruiting, and energy to MI
2). Bob Stoops - been out out of the college game for a few years and refreshed. He would only come back to a traditional power, and michigan is stretching the boundary of that definition. Right now - the Cyclones are a better program really in every way than blue
3). Chris Peterson - this guy absolutely crushed it at Washington, taking the Huskies to a college football playoff (probably not easy to do with a non blue blood). He flat out is a great coach and extremely solid recruiter.

Outside the browns campbell is just not going to go to the nfl, kind of a stupid argument at this point. I'd even say the Browns are shaky, would you go somewhere Baker freaking Mayfield is your cornerstone piece?? yikes. Also I don't think campbell's motivating style translates to the pro's, he's just a better college coach. Nothing wrong at all with this by the way.

The Jets replace a new coach every time I go to the bathroom.

Poster 'Peter' was right, I also think Campbell is an awful fit for the Michigan culture. They are very much the wine and cheese crowd/ intellectual elite / snooty. That just isn't Campbell's style. Campbell seems to be the perfect fit for us, remember thats why he took the job in the first place!!
