I actual like when he does our games. He seems like he is friends with TJ. You would never know he was once a player for 20 years for that other team.

I thought it was hilarious when they put up the point guard graphic that has Hornacek, Tinsley, Monte and Haliburton and Settles says “I am pretty sure I played against all of them”.
Yep. He is a decent announcer, and he is always complimentary about ISU. Totally professional. If I didn't see him play for Iowa in person, I would never know it.
Not always, but he was tonight. Seems liked he has matured into a good color announcer. Liked his comments about TJ and his staff.
He does pretty well, although I think he could say a little less (just let the action speak for itself).
He was the first Covid-extra season player ever. I also liked how he was self deprecating when the other announcer brought up he played 6 years & should be called a doctor. Doesn't take himself too seriously (but it was a perfect set up for a Tommy Boy reference & he missed it)

After 1 game listening to him I like him better than the Baylor guy (King McClure?)
Settles is a good dude who does a lot better than most guys on the call.

I like him. He always pulls out random Iowa State anecdotes from years past that you're just not going to get from anyone else.
My girlfriend is a distant relative. I've met 6 of the Settles' , but not Jess.
I speak from experience when I say that his brother Jake is a super nice guy and an excellent surgeon.
Jordan Bohannon says hold my beer. Settles played 5 seasons and 116 games JoBo played 6 and 179 games.
Enjoyed when he said TJ will have us in the Final 4 within 3 years
More Settles, less King McClure in the future. In McClures case, I can't believe a guy that played basketball at that high of a level for 4 years has so little interesting info to add to the broadcast
