Wow, what a recollection you have. Bogart was a male Nebelung, a breed that originated in the 1980s that I had never heard of until my youngest son informed me about Bogart's heritage near the end of his life in 2023.

Nebelung in German, I've read, means creature of the mist, deriving from their medium gray hair, I'm guessing.

Nebelung's are rare, I've discovered, after Bogart died I searched to find a Nebelung to adopt. Wow. So few of them. And so far away. So, how in hell did Bogart end up in an Ottumwa shelter? I'll never know.

Sure, no one watches. Is that the fault of the athletes, or ours?

Do you assume if eyes are absent, there is no value in the activities? How many eyes are in the history classes, or those in the veterinary department?

I support giving Iowa State University students the best experience that we can. Too often, we can't. I think we suck.

You cant let the free market reign in two sports and then scream purity and amateurism for the rest. Fact is everything outside of mens football and basketball are vanity projects of a given university.

Scholarships are now total cost of attendance correct? So when did that change? That would explain the large increase.

NFL, NBA, MLB all have salary caps. This is the same thing. You can only afford X$ per player to field a team. All teams play by the same rules and cap to ensure a level playing field. The cap changes over time, but there are still "limits" on what a player can make.

MLB doesn't have a salary cap...
