For those not in the loop J'den has been in between weight classes for his "normal" weight and hadn't made the announcement which way he was going for this upcoming years Olympics. He's going 97

I know he and Kyven have worked out together, anyone know how Kyven does against him ?

I don't see either Kyven or Jden dethroning Snyder in this cycle, but we will see. It definitely adds competition to the weight domestically. I just hope this means Taylor is good to go at 86kg so we don't have to see Downey out there. That alone will be a massive upgrade to the Olympic squad.

Cox is the best freestyle wrestler America has right now IMO. Won worlds without giving up a single point last year and Snyder has started to struggle a little, he got pinned while trailing 8-0 by an Iranian at the Matteo Pellicone. My predictions for the finals as of now:
57 kg - Lee over Gilman
65 kg - Zain over Oliver
74 kg - Dake over Burroughs
86 kg - Taylor over Zahid
97 kg - Cox over Snyder
125 kg - Gable over Gwiz

Think Fix is better than Lee or Gilman at this point. It will be great next year when Lee goes for 4 and loses to Fix in the finals.

Fix lost to Gilman recently at Matteo Pellicone and is too defensive to beat Lee. Doesn’t have the offense to win big at the international level yet.

Outstanding. I think Cox can definitely hang with the 97kg class. Not saying he's Sadulev but Sadulev made a similar transition.

He was dominating Lee in Cadet qualifying a few years ago. I think you are vastly underrating what Fix brings to the table. He lost to Ramos before the last world qualifying cycle and whipped him right after. I think Fix is way ahead of Lee at the freestyle level and it will be him or Gilman. When’s the last time Lee was at an international freestyle event?

Cadets against Lee were from 2015, so five years ago. Lee hasn’t done international freestyle in a while but he won Senior Nationals a couple of months ago by a combined score of 52-6. Tech’d everyone except Tomasello. Fix is really good and I think he could win Trials, I just think Spencer is just a bit better.

57kg - Gilman over Lee (Gilman has been in the trenches in Russia and picking up skills all over the place. I'm giving him the edge this time. Lee will be a beast for many years to come, tho)
65kg - Oliver over Zain (Oliver seems to have found a new gear)
74kg - Dake over Burroughs
86kg - Taylor over Downey
97kg - Snyder over Cox (should be super tight, but I give the edge to the Cael coached multi-champ)
125kg - Gwiz over Gable

I love Cox, but Snyder is so well-proven, driven to be the best he can be and is not the one switching weight classes. 2021, I think it's Cox beating out Snyder and agree Snyder could end up bumping up to 125kg. That dude loves to lift. I could see Snyder bulking up and giving the big boys fits with his strength and mobility.

That was 5 years ago and was not dominating. 5-5 on criteria and 9-6 on a late comeback. Not to mention, Spencer was able to drop 11 pounds to the next weight class and win a world title that year. It is clear he was a bit undersized against Fix there.

It will be a close match and either winning would not shock me.

Comparing your picks to mine, it’s a reminder about how close the top couple of wrestlers are at each weight except for 86 kg.
