Javan Johnson at 4

The only way Johnson doesn’t start at the 4 is if Foster is ready. Young, Conditt, and Foster are all 5’s.
I’m going to adjust this a bit here. Conditt and Foster both can play the 4. They have the skills to do that. However, since Prohm has never allowed Conditt to do so in an official game, it remains to be seen whether he’ll use either of them that way this coming season.

Personally, I love the thought of the two of them on the court together, interchangeable. But maybe that’s just me.

Given the lineup deficiencies last year, I think it’s reasonable to say that if Conditt was a viable option at the 4, even Prohm would have relented at some point.

Conditt's play during the 2019/20 season was one of the most disappointing aspects of last year's team. I really expected him to be a 12ppg/8 rpg guy. For whatever reason he seemed awkward and not mentally tough. He let opponents or negative things impact his emotions and play.

He is one guy I was hoping the new strength coach could have a huge impact upon during the off-season. I still have hopes Conditt can be an honorable mention All-Big 12 player next season.

Maybe this is a story for fanatic staff- how are strength coaches working with guys now that they are off campus. With schools and fitness centers closed, it must be tough.

Rewatch Seton Hall at Hilton and at TCU last season and, clearly Conditt has the ability to be a big time contributor. And those games were against two of the biggest guys he went against all year in Samuel and Gill so it wasn’t just that he made hay against smaller competition. Just don’t know if the losing affected him more than the other guys. Hoping he can make strides and play more like those games all season. He definitely was more comfortable with the small ball lineup when he could run so that may have had something to do with his production dropping so much once he started.

Condit's hands went to **** 2nd half of the season. Probably in large part to Haliburton's injury. I think it's safe to say he's better than he showed at the end of the season but Haliburton running the show pumped up our expectations of GC a bit above his actual level. Hopefully Harris gets a waiver or we add another solid distributor.
