Jamie Pollard...

Can someone please explain why you'd want to get rid of pollard? I'm assuming anyone who feels that way is either an idiot or hasn't been an Isu fan for longer than 10 years. Or I guess maybe you're not exactly sure what an AD at a school like ISU is supposed to do.

Jamie has done great things at ISU. He has given all of the resources that the money making sports need in order to be successful. It is now for the coaches to perform and get it done.

Pollard seems like a terrible fit for LA to me

Its a different and animal that is for sure. He would get a lot more criticism from media for any football short comings along with coach. USC is be all end all in Los Angeles.. Its not SEC crazy, but lots of expectations.

Maybe when LA gets an NFL team back it will ease expectations, on USC, maybe..

Very unlikely. Jamie has done a lot of great things for us but his history of hiring FB coaches will affect him. It is very rare for an AD to hire 2 FB coaches, but at ISU he might even get a third chance.
Second: let's be honest that ISU is at best a third echelon/tier athletics school (or lower end of 2nd tier). I don't think you can jump easily from ISU to USC type school unless you go to 2nd tier schools like Arizona State, Arizona etc. See Gene Smith for example.

Ohio State is second tier?

Can you imagine Pollard in his dad jeans with his dorky smile and kind demeanor in LA? BAHAHAHAHA.

Don't think JP would be a good fit either. Three of his strongest attributes are fundraising, navigating conference re-allignments and working on a tight budget.

Fundraising wise, I doubt he connects as well to USC boosters as he does to ISU boosters. Sure the value of boosters is considerably more than ISU, but still, I doubt he would be able to tap into the full fundraising potential at USC.

And navigating conference reallignments and working on tight budgets is not an issue at USC

It would be just like Creighton doing us a solid with McDoormat. Hopefully lightning can strike twice. Even more hopefully he'll take CPR with him.

Jamie has been a solid AD but i think sometimes he gets more credit than he probably deserves, even though he deserves a lot, if that makes sense. The fact is a lot of our increased revenue and thus a lot of our projects have come in large part from the big 12 contracts increasing. Any halfway competent AD that was here during this time was going to see a budget increase and was going to have facilities as a major goal (because everyone in college athletics is doing that). Its a bit generous to say 'no AD did what he's done' when he's presided over an unprecedented level of outside funding.

Like Fred?

Fred ascended to the next level, which was his life's dream. What's the next level for Pollard, President of a University?

His gig is pretty damn cushy. Someone would have to offer him a lot of money to take the same job, in heat, somewhere else... Not to say someone can't write checks bigger than ISU's, but I'm not convinced that money is the only deciding factor for Pollard's career options.

With our football uniform design Jamie has wanted/envied to be at USC for many years already. (Jimlad)

That's probably one reason Jamie would consider the USC job. Instead of buying himself a new USC shirt, Jamie could probably just buy a USC sticker and paste it over the ISU logo on his ISU shirt.
