Without searching, anyone recall how close we were to getting him? Weren't we in his top 5 or better? . He might have elevated this team to 4 or 5 wins in the Big 12 this year lol.. Looks like he will be a 1 and done

He made a good choice going to Gonzaga.
We were like top 7 but nobody thought we had a chance. It was pretty much the Zags and then everyone else. Dude is a beast
Hot take: Fred would have landed him for ISU.
It sounds like a broken record, but man, Fred really screwed up going to the Bulls. If his goal was truly the NBA there were about 15 other franchises he would’ve been a better fit at.
Or he is a key piece to the #1 team in the country that has a real shot as a undefeated regular season and will likely be a top 5 pick.
We always hear about how Fred would have landed a certain 5-star but he never did. Rashad Vaughn and Cheick Diallo.. of course he finally lands one but at Nebraska now.
He dominated - 7/10 from 3 and most of them were super deep and/or contested. Also extremely disruptive on defense. Iowa had no answer.

Suggs is looking like a top 3 pick. ISU could have been been probably 6 or 7 in big 12 with him.
Same thread among Gophers. Different coach, they land him too. He is at an elite program and will be a lottery pick next year.
Iowa State had no chance. MIchaelson is killing it on the recruiting trail for them right now. They might land Holmgren as well.
