Ok. Then why is my statement dumb? I clearly said that if this was a deal where Iowa State let him out then good. Just trying to learn.
Well I feel vindicated now. Eugene Rapay said this was known to be coming for quite a while. I knew I heard it somewhere.
Interesting, although what exactly did Eugene say? If he was referring to the coaching staff that's not exactly public knowledge. It wasn't known around here in either the free or premium forums.
Agreed. Schools have almost always let players out of commitments. There are some recent examples of schools trying to limit more high profile players from leaving for more money but that's not what's happening here at all. ISU wasn't planning on using him next year and he wants the opportunity to play . Why force a player to come here who's not going to play? Not exactly a real moral booster for the team. Who knows, maybe he looks like a solid freshman next year and decides he wants to transfer to ISU. Apparently the Kiss camp was very appreciative of how TJ and ISU handled the whole situation.
My prediction is that Jaquan Johnson will start every game he's healthy next year and Batemon will continue to be our 6th man. Then I think it's a 3-man race for 2 guard slots between them and Killyan to finish out the games.
ISU got blown out of the tournament due to rebounding. Michigan won the tournament due to rebounding. ISU's leading rebounder left the team. ISU PF recruit has left the team, leaving an open roster spot. Portal has a lot of PF's available. They are not going to leave this spot open are they?
Sure there is an open roster spot, but that's just because the number of roster spots has expanded recently. Kiss was going to redshirt. Him leaving has absolutely no impact on rebounding this season.
They were not planning on Kiss playing next year. So if it stays empty all they are losing is a development player spot anyways. They apparently felt they had addressed their rebounding needs already.
ISU added Singleton and Manning, both with P4 experience, so we'll already have 2 more PF on the roster than we had against TN. 1 more PF than all season last year.
Kiss was set to redshirt so this HS may be his replacement?:
