Does that preclude it from be useful for something else? No, it doesn't. The guy is just asking NIH to review new data. It seems like a completely reasonable request. There are a number of papers out calling for further investigation into repurposing ivermectin for COVID treatment for several months now.

Yes, it's used on pets and livestock to kill a wide variety of parasites ranging from worms to lice. It is used on humans, typically in lesser developed countries.

Yes. I was accidentally jabbed with a needle while working cattle, lucky syringe was empty. Vet made sure I was going to be alright.

Or how about we just stick to what we know works instead of speculating? Wear a mask, social distance, don’t go to crowded indoor places, and get vaccinated once that’s available to you. Common sense stuff.

My brother-in-law (a doctor) and his family were treated with ivermectine and an antibiotic when they all came down with COVID near the end of August. They were all in quarantine for 14 days however they experienced almost no symptoms and were feeling fine within three days. The ivermectine was prescribed for them by my BIL's personal physician. This was in Gallatin, TN. Just passing along my BIL's experience.

I don't know if the Ivermectine is effective but I am all for looking at effective for safe treatment options. Even though social distancing and masks help some, we have seen that total compliance is extremely difficult. Even with an effective vaccine, Covid is here to stay.

I don't think the drug will be a miracle cure, but it might be an additional tool to help with the fight.
