ISU vs. K State Game Thoughts

D
I think Dylan Lee should start getting Sama's carries. I just don't see "it" from Sama, he's got speed but that seems to be about it, no vision, just straight line runner. Need to get Lee more involved in the run game.
Did you see "it" in 2023 Iowa State @Kstate when Sama rattled off 276 yards and 3 TDs and pretty much single handedly won us that game?

How about 2024 KState at Iowa State when Sama was our leading rusher (81 yards on 15 carries, Hansen had 13 carries for 58 yards) that iced a Big 12 championship appearance as fans rushed the field. Pretty damn special night! Sama was a crucial part of that win. Did you see "it" that night?

Give it a rest! Sama has homerun potential that Hansen does not. They compliment eachother well. Sama will have some enormous games and will rip off some explosive runs.

Uh Hansen absolutely has home run potential. He practically has the same amount of big plays as Sama lol.

Sama has a really hard time getting "skinny" at the LOS.
The issue compounds when his vision is a split second or two behind the play.
Fortunately his athleticism is off the charts so he can more than make up for it at times.
But from a pure runner perspective, he's limited.
I wouldn't mind seeing a few reps for Dylan Lee.

So is Dylan Lee the mystical wonder that will be deemed as the reason ISU comes up short of whatever thing they don't achieve or reach this football season?

Ok...let me preface this by saying Hansen is an absolute stud. You can't keep him off the field. With that said, he has never had a 100+ yard rushing game in his career. He isn't a guy who is going to house an 80 carry for a touchdown.

Sama has three different 100+ yard rushing games and has the potential to break an open field tackle and break off a 50+ yard TD run. He has more open field speed than Hansen. To say otherwise is just unneccessarily putting him down.

The KState defense was worn down in a week 1 game in the 4th quarter of an extremely physical football game. Credit to Hansen for running extremely hard and putting the game away.

It seems like a growing storyline of the transfer portal is that a developmental team and teams with long term commitments like the cyclones can make second half adjustments a lot smoother than the transfer portal teams or teams that have a lot of roster turnover.

I thought it was documented that Hansen and Sama’s 100 m HS times were identical?
