Dude from Auburn set a new world record in the prelims of the 110 hurdles (12.75). Old mark was 12.80 by Aries Merritt in 2012.
Robin Kwemoi Bera (28:32.22) and Sanele Masondo (28:35.91) finish 15th and 17th, respectively, in the 10K.

I agree. I ran both the 400 and 800 in high school and I was not going anywhere near the 400 hurdles.
My son ran HS track in Minnesota and they only run a 300m hurdles rather than 400.
I absolutely hated running them. Especially since my other 2 events were 110HH and High Jump, so two of the first events each meet. Then 400 hurdles at the end of the night after I got cold. I would literally rather run any other race than 400 hurdles in high school.
A few things about Nawal. She won the first Olympic gold medal for any African woman and any Arab woman. The King of Morocco proclaimed that all girl babies born on that day be named Nawal. She served on the IAAF. She has been a large force on the International Olympic Committee for quite a few years serving as the site selection President twice and the IOC Vice President twice (including the current term). She has also served as the Minister of Sport for Morocco.
