if we win football, I like our chances, because we always in xc, we could win basketball or at least split there, wrestling always goes toward Iowa, and we've had some success against them in the spring sports

Definitely feels like we stole one last night for the CyHawk series. Iowa’s WS program as a whole is definitely at a higher level than ours is right now.
There is a hell of a lot of green between "in a good position" and "sealed the deal."
In 2012-13 ISU was out to a 9-2 lead after losing in soccer and winning in volleyball, football, MCC and WCC. Iowa won 17-9.
True. I have only been to one soccer game, but Iowa State looked like they were on the verge of putting it together when they played a quality Minnesota team to a 1-1 draw at the Gopher's place. They had flashes of brilliance mixed in with WTF? moments.
We should win in volleyball, but we also should have won last year yet found a way to lose.
I was chatting with Matt Fannon, WSoccer coach, on Monday. Said that he likes to load up the front end of the schedule with some tough teams, because you really don't get anything out of playing lesser sides. It's all in prep for Big 12 play.
I think every win counts 2 points except football which counts for 3.
I have followed the soccer team for a number of years and have seen the improvement really grow since we hired Matt Fannon. I like that we are going to grass as IMHO it is a better game on grass.
The current on is "only" ten years old.

There's no need to. It's a really nice facility, but just probably needs more seating.
I when I worked in the marketing department in college, I had to work a few soccer games. I'd say the stands were typically 50-75% full during those games. If the stands were a bit bigger, or built additional stands, I think that would open up the opportunity to host track meets as well.
Attendance usually tops out around 500. The last two home matches against Iowa (2018, 2022) have gotten ~1,500.
It's not needed. The current one is plenty nice.... just maybe add some seating. Building a new one would be a waste of money.
